Nah can't compare tonight to the last two games.
He must have thought we were playing “ call your own fouls “ lol …. What a damn bum
Their big guy was a bull in a China shop all night and they kept calling the fouls on us. The push off on Almonor when he made the layup was a ridiculous foul called on us.
Missed some things but missed some our way. Not close to Georgia game where Poole took us out of the game.
You can add the foul on Perry when Matthews threw him to the floor on the rebound, and Perry had the foul called on him.
Actually, Perry was amazing... get thrown to the floor not once but TWICE and get the foul called against you. Cherry on top was the offensive hook by Hubbard being given and AND-1 when he even took an extra dribble. So, not only was the foul NOT on Perry, even if it had been, there is ZERO reason he should've been given the basket.
in the last 5 minutes Mississippi State didn't get a foul call on them
Tonight was overall the best officiated SEC road game I’ve seen in some time. Refs (as always) missed a few both ways, but they didn’t control or take over the whole game like Tuesday night. We actually GOT some calls go our way tonight. Butler had an over and back that was missed, the foul on the rebound against Williams they reviewed for a flagrant wasn’t even a foul on State plus another foul on State in the 1st half on somebody was a jump ball…..

Not too bad a night for the officials but not sure how that one ref missed the call where Amari got the rebound in the corner with a couple minutes left and got absolutely hacked & attacked, and then the ball clearly didn't go off him.
I was listening on the radio tonight and Tom and Jack agree with you too!
The sad part is, I'll take tonight's officating if it means not having to deal with the last two games.
But that doesn't mean it was good..
I said in a thread earlier this week, I wish the whistles would get blown 100x more if that would cause teams to stop trying to play rugby on the court. There is NO DOUBT many coaches implement the strategy of constant fouling b/c they know the officials won't call them all.
Officials should call the fouls. IF those coaches don't like it, coach their teams to play the game properly.

The Butler "over and back" was actually the correct call. The announcer made the comment live that Butler never fully crossed mid-court, and I re-watched it. He was right. Butler's back foot never came into the front court, so he was still in the back court... therefore, no over and back. Was it lucky? Yes, b/c Butler probably thought he was a step or more further in the back court. But, it was the right call.
The foul reviewed against Williams was also the right call. The MSU player did hit the ball clean up top, but he landed on Williams like a bull, which is still a foul b/c you cannot jump through the opponent even if you hit the ball cleanly.
Mekendez took 4 steps and dunked after a steal and not one of those 3 idiots called it. Most egregious walk of the season. Sad thing is the NCAA tells them to let that stuff go. Why? College basketball is a joke. Officials and the way they have changed the rules have ruined it.

IMO, officiating has been terrible for a long time- watch any other games (non UK) and the officials are not good- do you want them to call every foul, which would be a lot (I do) or don't call anything- many teams know the officials will not call all the fouls so they foul constantly because they know many will not be called
I thought we got a good whistle, especially with the game being in a hostile environment on the road. Usually the refs get heavily influenced by the crowd, this crew didn't.
One thing I didn't like though, is when a guy is driving hard to the bucket and the defender does everything to get out of his way and avoid contact and still gets called for a foul.
Last night, on 2 different plays, their big guy charged into the paint, our guys backpeddled, then collapses to the floor and you can tell they were just trying to avoid the foul call, but they STILL got called. It's ridiculous.
I have always hated the call where a guy drives the lane and jumps sideways into the defender and gets the call. That's just terrible officiating.

I’ve never seen a player slide with the ball 15+ ft and not be called a walk from middle school thru college…….i mean I’ve never heard the terms “he didn’t roll over” its a freaking walk & the Orlando Poole article is quite alarming. These guys get paid very good $$$ as well for these games, but with gambling being pushed down everyone’s throat then these questions are only going to continue to be asked.
Yes, I would like to see the officiating call at college and NBA levels call every foul. It would only be a few games of really horrible unwatchable games.
Then, as teams adjusted, all games would be SO MUCH BETTER to watch.
Agree… if the defender is in position and yielding ground, that is a charging foul because the defender has the right to be on the floor.
I mean, our guys crumbled to the floor after backpeddling, I don't know what else they can do.
I wish the officials had to do a post game press conference like coaches do.
