went up for me.

HDTV Service went from 7.95 to 8.50
Sports Pack went from 5.00 to 6.00
Modem Rental went from 5.00 to 7.00

Still trying to figure out why it went up by $11. My promotion is probably ending soon as well.

I have i guess what is basic cable, no premium channels, 2 HDTV DVR boxes......need another one.....and high speed internet...

I would leave the cable in a minute if i knew during these tornadic weather escapades we've been having wouldn't have my satellite reception go out....

i mean, i watch tv late at night, and during bad weather.....well, with satellite, ive lost half my TV......ive heard that doesnt happen anymore, but as soon as i hear, someone tells me different...

tell me im crazy and what im missing....i looking for as good of service for a better rate...

Which of course totals $145, but Dish went up 5 bucks on their HD package about 6 mos. ago.

told them that it was absurd what I was paying. She signed me up but told me that it would only last for 6 months. I really have no clue how much money I will end up saving. Don't really know yet if it was even worth the hassle of dealing with her but we will see.

I would switch to Direct TV or Dish but I have had both and despised both of them. My experience with the 2 satellite companies are probably the worst experience with customer service or a product that I can remember. How the hell anyone has either of those two for over a month is beyond me.

Everyone tells me they have no problems but then I show up at their place and they are having to call the 800 number or reset this box. It is ********. At least with Comcast, I turn the damn thing on and it works. Plus the internet is much faster than DSL.

Metrocast (in Starkville) will NOT allow you to use our own modem anymore. Even though I bought one years ago, they make me rent one from them now. I assume Comcast COULD do the same.<div>
</div><div>They told some lie about only being able to use MAC address they have in there system. It was a feeble attempt to lube my rectum. </div>

I was on a 2 year deal, $119/mo for Triple Play. Add in all the box fees and taxes, I was around $145. <div>
</div><div>We got the oldest kid an HDTV for Christmas so we went IN to the office in Purl to request a new HD box and to drop the sports pack. Seems easy, right? Add $7.50 for the box, drop $5 for the sports pack. WRONG. They completely screwed up our bill. Ended up removing our HDDVR, cancelling the Triple Play promotion and adding about $20 to the bill.</div><div>
</div><div>After 4 phone calls, they told us they couldn't roll our bill back to what it was because the $119 promotion wasn't in the computer anymore. So they had piece meal the bill as best they could. They even had the nerve to say, "we increased the internet speed so that'll cost you $10 more". All in all, our features are about the same, but we are paying $10-$15 more than we should have been paying because of THEIR screw up.</div><div>
</div><div>Comcast is an inept, crooked company. But, at the end of the day, they all are. If you want HD and high speed internet, you are going to pay approximately the same price no matter which company or combination of companies you choose in the end.</div>

Pay no attention to comcast's list of approved modems. I picked on off the list and bought it, only to have an installer tell me an zoom modem is the only one they could make work.

While I believe there is no technical reason for this to be the case, it was definitely the case for some reason. He blamed it on serial numbers.

....when I bought my own modem and quit playing comcast $3.00 a month, I just had to call them and give them the MAC address, and we were good.

Watch the weather online when the TV goes out b/c of the weather. And boom goes the dynamite!
