The biggest threat to a CCL school in those days was a flare-up of mumps or measles (due to lack of vaccination reqs in catholic elementary schools) - a mumps outbreak decimated the Rita roster in 1986 and as a result they lost in the first round to CPS Kenwood Academy 12-zip in one of those Wednesday games. KA was summarily dispatched 36-0 by St. Laurence the next Saturday.
I never knew that about the reason for the loss of the Kenwood game. I remember sending a letter to the football staff telling them how shocked and disappointed I was in a proud program. I now stand shamefully corrected almost 30 years later !

Unless you are playing fantasy football, rushing yards don't mean as much as points on the board. The Pirates playoff average against 3 playoff teams is 23.
Quags, I agree with you and jp. What I am saying though is that the LA rushing attack is the spot of worry for me in this game. I think it will be a difference maker in the end. I will be more than happy if I am proved wrong though

I agree with you. LA's running game has only gotten stronger with power back Jack Loeper coming back this past week from a week 2 injury against Maine South.
