with a little less drama within the team and a little more drinking off the court.

That's it. Kennedy recruits well (see also has decent AAU contacts), but Stans recruits better (has better AAU contacts). Stansbury struggles to get his team to play an organized looking offense. Kennedy struggles even more.

The drama is why you get more ups and downs than we do, more of a roller coaster, but the fact that Kennedy is the poor man's version is the reason we won't ever make the dance under him while Stans will make it on occasion. The stars may be aligning for Stans this year with some good timing. Enjoy it.

Don't mind us. We'll just be over here prepping for another NIT run. Consistency is the name of Kennedy's game.

So Stans is on a pace of every other year in the NCAA tournament, with 4 NIT appearances and 3 years of missing postseason play.

It's a roller coaster with Stans, but he does at least get you in the dance, because he's a better coach and better recruiter. I apologize if my wording downplayed Stansbury's accomplishments for you or something.

A bad year for Stansbury (ie early NIT exit) is a good year for Kennedy. Our lows are as high as your highs Bruiser. Our "rollercoaster" bounces between NIT and NCAA tourneys most years and not between total suckage and the NIT like Ole Miss.

Why do they all love Zima and similar drinks so much? I've never seen anything like it before. Nevermind, I have, but it was back in high school. In the backwoods country.***

A lot of people don't like to hear that, but it's the truth. And yes, I do agree it would be better if we'd made at least 1 Sweet 16 in those 6 appearances.

but this he dosen't fit the bill w/what you're saying. Its just a weak and feeble attempt at making yourself feel better b/c your entire sports program (sans baseball and hockey) sucks gorilla scrotum. AK is not quite as bad as you say, and Stans isn't nearly as screwy as you say.

that's not what RCR said...(Germans, I know)...

"Waits to use restrooms and get drinks were worse than anything I endured as an undergraduate."

"Much to my chagrin, Oxford's finest drinking establishment, the upstairs of City Grocery, was one-in-one-out"

"The tent's (rather, it was four tents arranged in a row) setup was large and bountiful...Booze, Chick-Fil-A, booze, jambalaya, booze, gumbo, booze, beer and booze..."

Lines for bathrooms? One-in-one-out at a bar? Booze and.....CHICK FIL-A at the tailgate? Well color me impressed!

That's not quite true. You've missed the NIT 3 times under Stans (that's once every 5 years or so), including last year when you had no business missing postseason play.

And the only time in Kennedy's 6 years of coaching that he missed the NIT was when he lost almost all of his backcourt to knee injuries within the first portion of the season. He's been remarkably consistent in his mediocrity. Not saying that's a good thing, because it's not, but it's hard to be that consistently in the middle. It's like getting grades. It's easy to get straight A's if you're good at school, and it's easy to get straight F's if you just don't try. It's really hard to get straight C's every year. That's what Kennedy does.

Stans is a better coach for sure, and it's not even arguable, but he's had a few roller coaster ride seasons where you lose to the likes of Rider and other bad teams out of league play and follow it up by looking like world beaters in SEC play. Kennedy takes some bad losses on occasion, but in large part, he's remarkably consistent in his mediocrity even within the season. Hell, in 6 years as a head coach, the variation in league record for Kennedy has ranged from a low of 7-9 to a high of 9-7. It's hard to go that long without ever dropping below that point OR without ever lucking into something better. Even his regular season plus conference tournament record has ranged from a low of 19 wins to a high of 21 wins with exception of the knee injury year where we only won 16 games.

And this year, we look like a team that will finish between 7-9 and 9-7 in SEC play, which will put us squarely and comfortably in the NIT, yet again. It is what it is with Kennedy.

Stop being an idiot.<div>
</div><div>At MSU, we do not idolize the NIT like you are attempting to do. It is a disappointment to be in a tournament with teams not ranked in the top 68 in the country. No coach at state would ever last or please a fanbase by consistently making the NIT because that is consistently failing.</div>
