one of the talking heads said he might be fed up and more apt to take a HS coaching job than a college or pro spot at this point

Shoot, why not? He is getting like 5 million a year for another couple years, I think...

With that said...teams that could/should be very interested in him...

Sounds like the Eagles wanted to take the GM part away from Kelly and Kelly refused. So they fired him.

Despite all that has been mentioned above, if he would have won a handful more games he would likely still be there.

I would be interested in him at NU if it were reasonable for NU to be looking for another head coach right now. however that is not the case. I am very surprised about the timing of this termination. if it were a rift with the owner about GM responsibilities then i think CK was very near sighted. i think it was a mistake for him to have all of the GM and head coach keys to begin with. i think it would have been more interesting to see his offense with a much better QB. personally i think Kapernik would have been an interesting fit in Philly with
kelly. wiith that said perhaps the 49'rs are interested. the grind of the NFL perhaps does not fit well with some of the methods that CK has in regards to practice--not sure but i think CK is not done with the NFL.

After seeing some more reports on this subject I think it's safe to say Chip was as done with Philly as they were of him. When Leurie (sp?) asked him to fork over GM duties that was his ticket out, and he cashed it. Probably a good move for everyone. I also think he'll make a much better head coach at the next stop. Having said all that though, he never had a legit QB, if he had one, this story would probably have a different ending.

Why would anyone want him? I mean he's a .500 NFL coach?

I cannot imagine that guy wanting to beg 18 y/o kids to com play for him again, so the NFL makes the most sense to me..However, if he went to a school like Texas or USC he could get top flight classes with the least amount of begging so if he does come back to college I would think one of those programs would be his likely landing spot. In the end, I think it will be the NFL and Titans.

Whoever shows up with the biggest bag of money.....that pretty much would be Texas or USC, but USC is not making that move now. If he stays in the NFL it will be whoever gives him the most control on player personnel.

I wouldn't put it past USC to have a change of heart. They have the money to buy out the recently hired head coach if they could land a guy like Kelly. Like him or hate him, the guy is an offensive genius and would put any team back on the map again very quickly.

I imagine Oregon might even consider taking him back if the chips (pun intended) fell properly.

No doubt Oregon would take him back, but I have an impossible time believing he would settle for Oregon. He could do better. USC or Texas, and I don't think he'd be a great fit at Texas to be honest. They'd do it, he'd prolly consider it, but USC seems like the natural fit if he wants to go back to college but man what a cluster that would be if they canned their new guy now. I don't see it, but you're right, they have the coin to do whatever they want.

Don't buy this one bit. Kelly strikes me as a massive ego. If a pro team will take him, which it sounds like he'll be a candidate, he stays in the pros.

I think Kelly believes that he never had a chance since he never had "his" quarterback. (Although wasn't he in charge of personnel when he traded for the slow, gawky Bradford?) His QB is in Tennessee. Tennessee needs a head coach. Kelly told Fox Sports that he wants to remain in the NFL, rather than return to college. Kelly also says he does not want to be the personnel guy.The only college jobs currently open are low-level.

In other news, Urban Meyer states that he was contacted by an NFL team.
