To update what I said last week about the Tunica area, Goldstrike and Horseshoe both are aiming for July now to be up and running. If your dream job is standing in a room surrounded by TV's, smoke, and pissed off gamblers, now is your time to apply.

LOL the delta could grow enough for the entire world and a couple of more planets if they turned those boys loose.

Might help draw more people back. I know they lost some people when other state approved gambling. I know I'm more likely to go if there's something other than slots or table games.

They see it as a potential to draw lost business back from Southland, which has gutted the Tunica casinos. Arkansas already has parimutuel wagering so they have the infrastructure to move to this quickly but I think they might need a state referendum to approve sports betting, which could take some time. Haven't heard anything about a shortcut around this.

You need to understand that High quality marijuana is not grown outside. It's grown indoors where you can control all the variables.
There would be no advantage to grow in the MS Delta..

Now Hemp could be grown in the Delta and it could be a huge boom..

This will be first day anyone in MS can do it. Mississippi Gaming Commission is meeting on June 21st to approve rules and regs, and once approved, it will become legal 30 days later.

Is there any restriction against betting on local teams? I had heard some states were doing that to make the NCAA and pro leagues happy, but I haven't seen anything about that in Mississippi

The first sign of addiction is betting on MSU sports. You'd be better off betting preseason NBA.

I heard Gallo interviewing someone last week on Suoertalk that said in MS you will have to be on the ground of the supporting facility to use a smart phone app, so you will be able to lay out by the casino pool and place wagers but not off site

Actually that's only partially correct...cannabis indica is a short fat plant with a short flowering cycle that thrives indoors...cannabis sativa is a very tall plant usually 7 to 12ft, with a long flowering cycle, because of these factors they are grown almost exclusively outdoors, the delta would actually be prime land for sativas

Most all the Sativa's gown here in Colorado are indoors. But they do well outside in Northern California..

You think Deer and Wild Hogs are a problem for row crops in the Delta. Imagine trying to keep 1000 acres of pot intact. ****

Wonder how it affects them if they eat it. That's all you need ... a wild hog that's high on dope.

...its grown inside. My best friend works for a huge legal operation in Sacramento called Farmer's Reserve that is as legitimate/legal and as connected as can be. They have a massive indoor grow op of I think 100,000 sq. ft. I'd guess that the smaller operations and those that want to grow outside because they feel it provides a different quality of product will continue to do so. Otherwise, its all indoors. Especially now that oils and derivatives have become more popular.

True, however, from a scalable and infrastructure standpoint, much less investment would be necessary. Could you imagine acres and acres of weed for miles and miles? Deer would be floating around everywhere

The story goes around here that Jack Daniel's (just up the road a bit in Lynchburg) used to sell the used mash for pig and cattle farmers but they had to stop because it made the animals drunk. Don't know if that's true or not, but it makes a good story.
