Two years too late, sincerely, Rangers fan

Actually hate to hear that. He was amazing...what he could have achieved if he could have remained injury free....

I always enjoyed watching him pitch

Definitely one of the better big game pitchers from the 2000's. I'm 95% certain this would have been his last year with the Cardinals anyway. Rumor I heard is he will be on the team for the year so that he can get the 12 million on his contract and then retire at the end of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals gave it to him anyway. Insurance if going to pay some of that, so they will have a little bit of spending money. I think he will be a good pitching coach for somebody whenever he is officially done.

The Cardinals rotation will probably be:

1. Adam Wainwright
2. Lance Lynn
3. Jamie Garcia if he is healthy.
4. Jake Westbrook (BARF)
5. Joe Kelly/Shelby Miller/Trevor Rosenthal- possibly two of these three if Garcia isn't healthy.

The bad thing is there aren't a lot of pitchers on the market, and they want to let Lohse walk because they don't want to give him a long term deal and they want the draft pick for losing him. Maybe they will give Roy Oswalt a look?
