Good God- how is that guy playing back-up QB in the NFL? He is awful. He should have two picks except for the fact that his passes were so horribly thrown that no one this side of Jerry Rice could catch those.

It's a well kept secret around the NFL, especially since McDaniels turned out to be a bust, but Cutler has alot of enemies around the NFL.

Seems like Cutler got voted most overrated a year or two ago.

Maybe I misunderstood something but Aikman and Buck made it sound like there's a rule keeping them from returning.

if you play emergency QB before 4th - he has to play the rest of the way according to twitter.

are always full of gamesmanship. If your starter is hurt you either list him 3rd or as inactive. I assume you realize the league is sensitive to the betting lines!

just like every other major sport, there's too many teams in the NFL... that's why you have the likes of John Skelton, Richard Bartel, and Derek Anderson fighting it out for the starting spot in Arizona just to name one of many teams with mediocre to terrible options at QB

That's called poor talent evaluation, poor coaching, poor free agency, and poor drafting. There's enough qb's out there to find one serviceable enough. It's Arizona's fault for believing in Leinhart too long. They should've planned for Warner's departure 3 years ago, traded/dropped Leinhart, and would be much better today.

there's not 32 quality starting QBs in football. Period. Therefore, you have guys who should be backups actually starting, and guys who should be 3rd string or practice squad playing backup.

Throwing a game, messing with the point spread, etc.

It's just a guess as to why a rule would ever be "needed".

ETA: Sorry, shooter 94, I hadn't read the remainder of the thread before I posted. Lesson learned.
