If by give Luger the title you mean have him win it and wrestle only Ric Flair, then yeah. Otherwise you get Lex Luger vs someone not named Ric Flair, which...umm, well it's usually not great
Steamboat
Pillman
Windham

...even super green Dustin Rhodes. There were other dudes he could have faced. Pre-WWE contract Luger could go, and not just when he faced Flair.

This women's match is about as good a match you could ever get on free tv.
Agreed. That was Wrestlemania or Summerslam worthy. That's how you do women's wrestling right.

Zayn shoulda went over in the second fatal four way. Roman is just boring, stale, and is a boo factory. Besides, Balor/Zayn would be tons more fun to watch than Balor/Roman Roids.

Speaking of Roman Roids, Charles Robinson spoke to me at the house show in Pikeville while setting the ring up, and we talked the suspension. He said he didn't know what Roman got busted for, but that he had legit heat in the locker room from a lot of people because of it, including himself. He also explained how the drug testing works. Said you get called up randomly to test. Even refs and announcers have to test. Anyone under a working WWE contract is fair game. If you aren't on site when your name is called, you gotta get tested at your own expense that day, or ASAP. Even used himself as an example the last time her got called up for one.

Whatever Roman got busted for, it wasn't weed. He said weed is a $2,500 fine and that's it. Said guys get busted for it all the time. As always, was pretty cool talking to Lil Naitch, he always asks that I work with him when he's in a venue I work at, but he seemed to give me the idea that Roman has so real heat on him. Said he'll still get pushed because he draws money, but he got a lot of guys pissed at him.

It remains cool that one of our crew is basically boys with the greatest wrestling referee ever.
He's a genuinely nice guy too. Coolest person in wrestling I've ever met.

Remember reading a while back on here, may have even been you that said it, that Eric Bischoff would make a good heel GM because he probably doesn't have to stray too far from his actual self. Very true. As awesome as Robinson is, that's as awful as Bischoff is. Met him at a house show for TNA a few years back, huge prick.

And with that, maybe there was truth to Roman having heat. Thank you WWE for giving Balor the push. Rollins/Balor is gonna be fun.

Quick question, with AJ on SD, and the Club on Raw, does WWE pull the trigger and make Balor leader of the Club?

Best Raw in the last couple of years, and they basically did it with 10-15 talents and the announce team. The brand split has potential if this is the constant type of product it can push.

I'm not upset with the new championship. If they are going to make it seem like the brands are competing, each need their own set of belts, and champions. I just hate the God-awful title of it.

The only place they messed up, IMO, where Raw got the cruiser weights, SD, should have gotten all the women. Not enough on the roster to really justify splitting that division up, and the SD women kinda got shafted. Pretty much is Becky and Natalya, then it is everybody else.

Each brand has a big belt. Each will probably have tag belts. Raw has the US title, SD has comparable IC belt. Raw has the women's title, I assume SD will bring the ****** Diva's belt back. And Raw with the cruiser weight title.

Not an obscene amount of belts for two shows, and it solves a problem many have had of some talents not getting pushed. Plenty of room now for it, and a chance to make a good product of both shows, and not just make SD the B show.

Agree with hero, but SDL should have been given the cruisers. Just feels right with Daniel Bryan.

crazy old grandpa can't get past the mindset that RAW is the bell cow, that it is the premiere exposure of his company. it was silly how he treated Smackdown like a lesser stepchild in the 2000's when it was on free over the air network TV & drew 4X the ratings of Raw. So of course if Smackdown gets the "World" champion then by god Vince's firstborn child will have the UNIVERSAL champ!!

but man, when they want to bury a guy, he is 6 ft under. bad enough he is looking up at the lights 2 nights in a row, but then stick the mic in his face right afterwards? brutal.

wonderful chick's match, but why do that & switch the title before Summerslam? what's wrong with a few weeks buildup?

RAW was seriously the best it's been in years. In 3 hours of programming the only thing to really complain about is the name of the new title, but it's going on either Seth Rollins or Finn Balor, so who cares what it's name is?

Both fatal 4 ways were awesome
Women's match was awesome
#1 contender match was awesome
Having actual jobbers was awesome
Interviewing jobbers was awesome
Commentary was awesome
Even the goofiness of Golden Truth playing Pokemon Go was entertaining

The original brand extension, right up until the first time Brock Lesnar left, was outstanding. Those early Smackdown shows with Paul Heyman having the book were some of the best wrestling TV episodes of all time, long live the Smackdown Six. And Raw gets a bad rap during that same time for Triple H ruling the show with an iron fist, but I think it was sneaky good too, especially once they got Jericho.

Agree with everybody who said SD getting the cruisers would have made more sense. That's where Mauro is.

I talked to Robinson for a long time at one of the Pillman shows back in the day and if I can find the picture I will post it sometime. He was shocked I wanted to talk to him and was one of the nicest people I have met.

Great show last night, two nights in a row. Crazy Old Grandpa actually let someone look strong on their first night, and I think it was BKH on Twitter last night that said, Reigns is HHH wrestling in the Hog Pen against the Godwins right now.

Either way. I just felt splitting up the women was dumb. That shoulda been the trade off. Cruisers on one show, women on the other.

Great show last night. It will be interesting to see what what they can do with SD tonight to try and match it.

Man talk about a complete 180 on a guy. I was watching the show and thought they were setting up for Reigns-Rollins at SummerSlam - just my way of thinking after he has been pushed the last 2 years. Guess we will see what Reigns is made of cause it looks like he will be on the job squad for a while.

"You're not a good guy. You're not a bad guy. You're a loser." I love you Steph.

Really excited that we get Rollins v Balor at SummerSlam. Should be a hell of a match.

That referees can get drug tested is hilarious to me. Wish it happened in college basketball.

Yeah, he was the same with me the first time we met. He was kinda flattered that someone was a fan of a referee. Somewhere on an old flash drive, I got some pics with him, and one of us and and Jericho together. If I find them I'll post them.

But he loves to talk the business. Any time I work with him, any question you have, he will answer, and he loves to tell stories from the business.

Like I said, Robinson just flat out told me that Roman had heat with a lot of the people backstage and in the locker room. His words, you don't let the company push you and make you the biggest star they have, and then do something stupid where they can't trust you. I even asked him if it was true that HHH made Reigns apologize to the locker room. He said he wasn't there if it happened, but that he wouldn't be surprised and that he should have anyway.

After last night and the PPV, I believe he told me the truth on everything about it. So maybe Roman is getting sent down a few notches for a while. Not a bad thing. We all wanted it anyway.

He said everyone got tested. I can see referees. They are actually in ring and to an extent are performers. The one that cracks me up is announcers. There isn't a performance enhancing drug out there that is gonna make Byron Saxton suck less.

I always liked Luger in NWA/WCW. Thought he was better than most here give him credit for.

That said, his matches IMO do not top the COC Sting/Flair. That match in my eyes is one of if not the goat hour(maybe not exact but it wasn't short) long matches ever.

Watched the first 4way match and it's the first I've seen of Balor. Pretty awesome character. Looking forward to the SD tonight. Maybe I'll stay awake.

I've loathed calling the fans the "WWE Universe" for years now. Just call em "fans". I mean ****. I guess WWE really wanted to make the fans feel a part of the whole thing thus giving them a title all wrestlers (****... sorry... sports entertainers) have to use.

Michael Cole on at least two occasions last night said "Professional Wrestling/Professional Wrestler". Not sure if it was a slip, or if the attitude at WWE is changing.

Universe never bothered me, just never put a lot of thought into it. I guess back then it didn't make much sense, but now that the company is publicly traded, and the social media age of things, it kinda makes a little more sense. The fans have more say than they ever have with the product presented to them.

Again, that's how you do women's matches right. Too bad the women's division on SD is just the two of them.

Sweet mother of God, who is that blonde that just walked out? More please.

Another great women's match, what took wwe so long to put these type of matches together. Raw just has more talent but this group could do good as long as they work like this.

Pretty shocked that Ziggler won but I do think a majority of the IWC like him so there is that. Thought for sure AJ would win.

Are you talking about Alexa Bliss, she has improved about a million percent down in NXT over the last year.

Nice to see Shelton Benjamin coming back along with Rhyno. Also heard they were bringing back Curt Hawkins too.
Good first show but not near as good as Raw was. But I don't think Raw will be that good every week.

I thought it was a good show. Raw was the better show - this week.

I feel like they should have turned Ziggler heel after winning. Attack Ambrose and end it with Bryan & Shane looking on confused. Something, feel like they missed a chance to end it on something big.

Excited that Benjamin is back. Good addition to that roster.

I LOVE Heath Slater. If anyone can take this gimmick and run with it, it will be him.

If WWE hadn't spent the last 20 months burying Ziggler, maybe there's something there.

Ziggler?

They're going to have to do something to convince me that they're serious about him before I can be interested in the title match.

Nice sequence where everyone ate Cena's finisher.

I am not in Barin Corbin's corner. Breaking Ground does him no favors either, but I don't like him regardless.

Apollo Crews needs a new finisher. He struggled to use it on Corbin, plus it doesn't come out of the blue.

Womens division is light, but they and tag teams need a prize to feud over.

Agree with all of this.

I like Ziggler, always have. If they are serious about pushing him, let him have a good run here and actually let him go.

Loved that everyone ate Cena's finisher and the match kept going, even having AJ kick out of it.

Ive only just started watching again, and only seen Corbin wrestle a few times. His problem to me is he has nothing that stands out about him. His mic skills suck. His little promo last night of why he was gonna win was by far the worst of the ones shown. His in ring work is forgettable, and if that move he did to Crews last night is his finisher, it is nothing more that just an exaggerated pushing a guy down. Absolutely nothing to make me hate or like the guy, just make me wish he was off my TV screen.

The powerbomb and variations of it are becoming the new superkick of wrestling. It seems everyone has one in their arsenal now. Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Appollo Crews, Cena will even pull one out now and then. The problem is Owens is the only one who has one that looks like it can put someone away.

Women's division is very light, but you got two work horses to lead it. My fear, Eva Marie, who is a walking botch in every match I have seen her in, got the last reveal last night, and is going to get a serious push.
