Congratulations to all ... for the past week or so, things have been very pleasant on this board. I've seen little, if any, nasty shots at other members ... no insults to somebody's school.

I love the exchange of ideas and opinions ... along with a dash of respect for the other guy.

Keep it up, boys (and post more scores!!)

It may also be going on because there haven't been any posts from a guy who resides south of I-80 in a small town that begins with the letter "H."

He's to busy watching his daughter play badminton while his "Jr" son rides the bench...right?

Get it right... junior high girls basketball for one of the worst teams I have ever seen...

Been busy lately, and then have come to the realization that some of the d-bags here will never change.. you guys were busy rubbing each other on a Saturday night when the pairings came out, ramblin talking about running clocks by the CCL entry into 4A on Halloween night.. and then reality struck, the certain school south of 80 that starts with an H won... and then there was nothing but crickets.. so whats the point of arguing with those that like to talk smack when they cant admit defeat, and instead just move onto another topic they know very little about?

Have you been reading AHoller and Redmen's posts? They are channelling GD.

So, you're saying we're a bunch of wussies? A bunch of gentlemen or something? That's a heck of a thing to say! Lol.

There's little conflict on the board these days. Some old combatants have left the board, some just get tired of the bashing that happens on this board from time to time. The subjects for the most part are now moot.

For some of us, the topics are just not interesting any longer...

And yet you continue to come back and complain.

Last year at this point of the year Edgy's tap was like a bucket of blood joint. Canned beer and draft beer from Solo cups were the only things served lest the denizens use glass containers as weapons.

LWeast: If the topics are not interesting to you, why don't you start an interesting thread?

I have. At least I thought I did. The threads didn't go far so obviously it was only interesting to a few people. Which goes back to my previous point.

LWeastDad,

One would think that you should be elated about next year with the redistribution of talent tilted in your direction, but instead you return to the forum with the same old tired pissin' & moanin'. Grow up, or at least get a new complaint!

Again, thank you for proving my point.

And just to be clear, I am not elated at the thought of a school closing. I think it is sad and something that needed to be done, rather, it never was needed in the first place.

You say you want to discuss football outside the Catholics...I gave you a topic and you still complain...perhaps you missed it. LWE is about to get a load of talent next year, give us some insight as to how you think it helps or hurts the program and the kids that are involved. Again not proving your point...give us some substance to discuss.

Having no knowledge of the LWE or LWN football programs other than graduating from HF in 2003 and playing on the 2002 and 2003 HF varsity teams, I would have to say that LWE is going to be STACKED next season and Zvonar is probably crapping his pants with excitement.

Prediction: LWE wins the SSB next season

You guys have to remember that LWE may be gaining the kids from LWN but are losing the kids from Mokena. Additionally, you don't know how things are going to fit together. It's easier to gain a new identity (when LWN opened) than try to incorporate a new identity when your school closes. Add in the fact that you are talking about teenagers and I have no idea what will happen next year

This is not just addition and King William, I don't think that is the case...

King,

I'm in the same boat with you regarding LWE, I gotta believe that they could be special next year if all the boys buy into them being one program and setting the school colors aside. I sure wish someone with some inside knowledge of the program would chime in to discuss these things!

Here is my take. The LNW kids, if they are so bitter about the school closing and anti-LWE then they will fade out of existence and not be on the team and it won't matter. LWE already has talent and a GREAT head coach. Those kids who love football from LWN are stupid to not buy into what LWE represents in terms of football. All I see is LWE loading up now with added talent at all 3 levels of football. There is nothing bad about this when you look at it from a football standpoint.

I hope LWN wins the state title and the for all coach takes the trophy home with him never to be displayed at the school. Very poor planning by the district hurts these kids and their families

Newt, it's a lot more than just poor planning...

And guys, we'll see next year....

King,

I'd agree the serious and dedicated players will be there and buy in the rest will fade away or excise their option to go free agent to the private schools. If I were the coach at LWE i'd hold a meeting at LWN the day football ends to make sure the boys at LWN know that they are a welcome addition to the LWE program before they get recruited to play in free agency!

I think all would make a play for their kids, Aside from MCC I think they are all probably in the 30 mile radius.
I can't think of a student, let alone a football player from the LWN district that has ever attended JCA.

You do realize atleast half the current LWE players will be at central next year?

MC the Mokena percentage of students is less than that at LWE.
