If for some long shot reason Mulcahy does not return. I would take him for 1 year. 3 point shooting % was down to 32% after sitting out a year with an injury. Good defender from what I remember.

Definitely not a good defender. Pure shooter and he's had hip surgeries further limiting his defense. I don't see much space for him here.
If I were him, I would have stayed at Iowa. That place was made for him
As stated, if Mulcahy does not return.
It's been a over 2 years but I thought I remember him being a good defender....maybe it was by Iowa low standards. I did not see him at Kentucky but he managed to play 22 minutes per game the year after sitting out. If injury limited him that much, I don't think Calipari would play a Non-defending guard 22 mins a game.
