CL article on Clayton Moore today is incredibly vague.

Someone remind me about this kid's story. The article says he went to Ole Miss, then MGCCC, now at Akron, OH. It mentions his "immaturity" early in college, but I have no idea what they're talking about. No examples of immaturity are given, unlike, say Brandon Marcello, who would mention a fistfight or something roughly 57 times in a single breath. So why'd Moore leave the Bears? I remember he was kind of a big deal during recruiting, but I lost track of him since then. Someone fill me in.

Very Vague Article

Got into it with his HS coach or something.

Seems like he was going to walk on at Ole Miss, and left shortly thereafter. He never was on scholarship.

This article certainly leaves a lot of the story out, which is more interesting than just 'MGCCC QB goes to Akron and is getting used to the weather'.
B Mac's article is a copy and past job from a week ago with some incorrect recruiting info shoe horned in. We had 12 recruits last weekend, not 14. Of those 6 were already commits, he made it out like none commited. Joe Morrow is now a solid verbal commit, etc... Really beat writers should not do recruiting. Veazy used to avoid recruiting like the plague, which I liked. He's dabbled in it a little this year.

...who would pout and curse if he didn't get what he wanted. He got into shouting matches with his coach at Louisville. He would change plays on the field without any direction or explanation to the coaches. He liked to pump his own statistics by calling plays that involved him. His high school career was marked by his narcissism and self absorption. He left Ole Miss, largely because he was promised a scholarship after walking on and then was told things weren't working out. Given his petulance, Ole Miss got the better of the bargain by running him off.

It sounds like he has grown up somewhat, but he was a high risk for being a problem child coming out of high school. Croom didn't want him because of that.

Steve Campbell was I'm sure good for him. But from some of his quotes, sounds to me like he still has a big of an ego; maybe he can turn around a situation like Akron by himself; we'll see.

are bitching about Veazey and saying that he digging for dirt and making them look bad. They especially hate the freedom of information act requests he makes on a regular basis.

You cant blame a kid for wanting to play. Going to Gulf Coast was an excellent choice for a second chance. They had a great season and won their bowl. Good luck Clayton!

Onlywent & saw him play one game his senior year, but couldn't believe anyone would actuallyrecruit him in the SEC.Looked likea heck of an athlete butseemed to have a horrible attitude and acted like he was king of the team. I went to the game with a couple of UM fans, and after thegame I told them I hated to sound cliche(since he was expected to sign with them)butthat was a guy I really didn't want MSU to recruit.

Hope hehas changed because he could be a decent player.

I went to high school at Starkville Academy with both of his parents, and I'm friends with his mom on Facebook. His mom is a big OM fan, so when Clayton walked on at OM, she must've posted a hundred pictures of him standing around in the locker room, modeling his OM football uniform--with helmet, without helmet, with helmet and brother, little brother wearing helmet, the family attending games in red and blue, etc.

After Mullen's first Egg Bowl win, she deleted me and several other high school friend State folks. For the record, I'm not the type to smack talk about Egg Bowl crap on FB. I assume it was preemptive, so she wouldn't have to see whether any State fans might have the audacity to post a "GO DAWGS!" status or something. She added me back weeks later, along with the others.

Then, around the time Clayton left OM, she disappeared from FB altogether. I don't know whether she was shamed or what, but the timing was implausibly coincidental.

She reemerged months later, posting pics of Clayton in his new uniform.

Like I said, gratuitous, potentially irrelevant detail.

His grandad is David Crawley who owns Crawley Law Firm. He employs Scott Lindsay, and supposedly two years ago, Crawley paid the bill for Pat Pat with the understanding that Clayton would have a scholly. I have no idea if any of it is true but there sure are a lot of coincidences.

that family is a cancer to have as a part of your football program. So if they are helping ole miss for some reason now, then Id rather be where we are. They dont have the ability not to 17 something up.

played at State in the laste 90's early 2000's.

To add to the Clayton Moore discussion.... I referee'd his S.A.Y. youth basketball games in Starkville while I was in school there. He was a pretty decent athlete.

His father was a Police Officer as well (I think in Starkville). I never met nor noticed his mother at the games. I ran into the younger David Crawley several times in my time in Starkville... he is very pro-MSU (or atleast used to be).
