Got my letter today. I have been paying about $11-$12 for Fri-Sat-Sun delivery. My rate is going up to $14, presumably with continued access to the online content. Ho-hum. This is a non-event for me.

and now it's with the trash on the street. I think it said that as a subscriber I'll have online access and didn't mention an additional charge for that. I guess I'll wait till Aug. 1 and see what happens. I guess I'll just pay the $14 for Fri-Sat-Sun home delivery and either have online access or not.

...to nonsubscribers and I think that makes sense. Dallas Morning News being one. Otherwise, they are giving away their content that subscribers buy for free. The newspapers were foolish to not do this from the beginning. Maybe it will help the industry a bit.

I have sent an e-mail to their customer support. Supposedly I will receive a response by tomorrow morning. If they respond, I'll post it.

If you're a new customer (probably no subscription in last 90 days - and that might be negotiable), you can get 7-day home delivery for $11.68 a month from http://www.discountednewspapers.com/Clarion-Ledger/

Or for $10.08 per month from: http://www.subscription-o.../jackson-clarion-ledger/

Don't know how that works with online subscription. And I can't vouch for either of the sites listed.

But, after canceling home delivery for a few weeks, I subscribed via an online discounted site (the name escapes me at the moment) for 7-day Memphis Commercial Appeal for $13.00 a month. So, I've been paying the same $13 per month for about 2 years, and it includes the online edition. It's an auto deduct from my credit card - not my banking account.

I've still not heard anything. Can't say that I'm surprised at all by that.
