I'll be the first to say it, that was an UGLY win. I guess after scoring in less than a minute into the game, Clarke let up. They played horribly after that, should have put them away quickly. Clarke got dinged up pretty good in that game, the BACKUP QB for Warren County put 21 points on Clarke's defense for Pete's sake!!

I will say this much............I was not impressed at all with Clarke. Warren County was out manned at every position on the field. Clarke's big O line and D line looked a bit tired early. The RB wasn't as impressive as I Thought he would be. He's got decent size but never used it to his advantage against smaller defenders. I will say Bush has WC heading in right direction.
Other than the easy win over Manassas Park, this Clarke team has failed to put any of their opponents away by halftime, allowing opponents to stay in games far longer than the past several years. Pass defense seems to be the Achilles heel for Clarke this year.
The schedule Clarke has played this fall is far more difficult than any schedule they have ever played. Anyone who has any inclination about football should be able to see that.
No question Clarke didn't play well Friday but the injuries that they have had over the past 3 weeks or so is beginning to catch up with them. They lost 2 players in about 2 min of each other and it kind of deflated the game a bit. Let's not lose sight that 4 of the 6 schools (all 3A or 4A) they have played will end up with winning records. Manassas Park was bad. Hard to put teams away in first half when they can actually play.
Good points on the schedule and injuries, but which four opponents that Clarke has played and beaten will end up with winning records? Dominion will for sure, probably Warren County looking at their schedule, but Handley and Waynesboro are most likely looking at losing records, and Man Park and Washington without a doubt will have losing records..
Typo on the 4. Meant to hit the 3 button. Fat fingers. Handley will win 4 games. Waynesboro and Harrisonburg played this week for the Valley District title. Waynesboro should win out for 6 wins.
