Gee, it appears that another school offered him a more lucrative “deal”. I won’t be surprised if the Twerps show him some love ($$$).
I think there’s a lot of direct payments being disguised as NILdeals. The NCAA still, at least theoretically, prohibits pay for play and cash payments in recruiting

As I understand it, the school can’t directly give the kid a NIL deal. That’s what the collectives are for. That said, I’m sure there is still a lot of shady sh|t going on.

Most kids on that level have confidence in their own abilities (justified or not) and don't worry about competition - they think they are better and will win the position, become an All-American, and be a perennial All-Pro in the NFL.
The kid committed to Michigan is a TE. Avery was going to be a DE at PSU.
No point in following recruiting anymore in the NIL era.
Avery was initially a TE commit that the staff wanted to move to DE. I think he had agreed to it, as well as Barnwell. Hence why we were still recruiting Rappleyea as a TE.

I’m sure the kid is carefully evaluating schools for the best academic opportunity.
Sounds like he told Franklin, he was taken visits and Franklin said then your not committed-then decommits.
I thought the BWI staff said he (Barnwell) was being considered for DL, possibly DT in one of the YouTube videos. He's versatile to say the least.
Coming off an injury like he is, it seems more likely to me that he might not be up to speed yet rather than teams chasing him with NIL. It's not like he's went somewhere and worked out and blew up (to my knowledge).
