And just like that here we are at the last regular season game went by wayyyy to fast.....Senior Night for Clinton and a big Sampson County rivalry game looms. Crazy to think all the time these two have been playing football that this is only the 7th meeting ever in a non scrimmage game. Outside of the 2013 matchup hasnt been to competitive of a rivalry think it has the potential to be different this year. For Clinton focus is to continue to play the solid brand of football we have seen over the last month the conference championship is already wrapped up but this game could still have huge seeding implications and im willing to bet Midway will be coming into this with the gloves off ready for a fight. Last night proved any given Friday night in this conference better bring your A game or be ready for some disappointment......1 more week than everyone is 0-0...should be a fun one Friday night GO HORSES!!!!!

Good post! Just because we have sewn up the conference doesn't mean we need to slack off now. Now we're playing for #1 overall seed in the East, now is not the time to lose focus. I'm sure Coach Johnson & Co. will have the boys popping on all cylinders next Friday. Midway is going to bring it, we will just have to bring more of it.

Dont think we will have to worry about the guys not being motivated this is becoming a big rivalry amongst the younger generation...i was at the game the night Midway and Wallace were playing and when they announced how bad Wallace was beating Midway the student section went crazy lol kinda surprised me cause before the Cardinal rule was anybody but Wallace lol not anymore...since coming up to 2A Clinton vs Midway may start to be the thing now......still i expect both teams to bring it Midway has a chance to secure a 2nd/3rd conf place finish maybe score a home playoff game.......definitely think its between Cory Barnes and Cory Johnson for Coach of the Year

Gonna be interesting to see how Midway responds to this past game against Goldsboro. First time all season being shut out. Midway just could not get anything going offensively. They had a few shining moments with a backup running back but they never established a passing game. Players were dropping balls or Holland was misfiring. Just unusual to see them have such an off night like that, especially this late in the season. To me, the interesting thing is how does Midway respond with that this week? Clinton is for sure a tall mountain to climb and even if Midway turns their offense around and plays a stellar (and flawless) offensive game, is it enough to hand the Horses a loss? Defensively last game, Goldsboro's first touchdown was a pick six. Their last touchdown, in my book, has several asterisks beside it because twice Midway stopped Goldsboro on third down on that drive only for the same ref to bail them out three times with defensive pass interference calls which eventually set up that score. First one was completely bogus, but the next two were closer calls. Not trying to grumble and certainly not taking the win away from G'boro at all because the pick-6 was enough to beat Midway, but, Midway's defense stepped up big time and had the Goldsboro offense pretty much shut down. If, If, If Midway can repeat that same defensive effort AND get their offense woke up, this could be a great game. If not, it's probably going to be a long night. My guess is that Midway competes early, just like they did against WRH. But, down the stretch, Clinton wears them down and pulls away.

The DarkHorses are playing for top seeding in the east. Win and it happens and all playoff games will be at home. Lose expect at least 1 road trip. Need to finish the regular season continuing the momentum
!

Pulling for Midway Friday night. Not that I have anything against Clinton, just with the ADJUSTED Ranking in play for seeding I have to hope for the best outcome to benefit my Stallions. But if you do win then probably will get the #1 seed in the East. Good luck, but not a lot ..... :cool:

Wouldn’t be surprised to see this game close at halftime. Clinton wins fairly comfortably though. All due respect for Midway, though. They’ve had a fine year.

This game will be big but nowhere close to how big it looked like it was gonna be before the Goldsboro loss.

Middle school team went undefeated and won conference championship congrats to them, we know the JV has experienced some growing pains this year but good to see a solid group coming up to help out next season

The last 2-3 years on senior night something cool they been doing is hanging pictures of the seniors on the fence line on the home side facing the stands for families to see and take pictures with and pretty sure they let the guys have them....im sure they will have something like that again tonight just something i been seeing thought it was really cool a nice momento for the kids

Midway has left some points on the field aswell.......we are defending the pass better than that read option run on most plays

Also saw one of the worse defensive holding/pass interference calls i seen this season....must be the same ref from the Union/Lakewood game last night if anyone saw Coach Burleys post on twitter lol

Refs have really killed any and all rhythm to this game longest 3rd quarter i seen in awhile at some point gotta let em play alil bit
