NSAA really dodged a bullet getting state basketball off, as now it probably would not have been able to happen this upcoming weekend.

8 weeks would be May 10th. Baseball teams probably carry 18ish each (36). 2 man umpire crew minimum is 38. Scoreboard/announcer is 40. 2 coaches minimum on each side is 44.

Track would be nearly impossible. There are 34 events at a meet. I can’t imagine having a meet, even between only 2 teams, with under 50 people. Especially when you include the starter, clerk of start, clerk of finish, a few people to run the timing system (if you are fortunate enough to have a timing system), and a minimum of 2 people at each field event.

Soccer teams carry 18-22. (Say 36 minimum combined). 3 refs. Announcer/scorekeeper. That is 41. Probably a ball boy on each sideline (43). Two coaches on each team (47).

If NSAA goes along with this it will probably mean no spring sports, or spring sports with no spectators.

Seen where NSAA suspended till April 2nd, meaning that there is hope for spring sports as of now, although the CDC says differently!

As a current teacher and coach in Nebraska, based on the latest info we are getting from top officials from the state, going back to school at all this year is doubtful. Spring sports are in serious jeopardy and would not be surprised if there is a moratorium on all sports camps through the summer.

I'm just sick about baseball. My son has been working all winter, and now poof - gone. I understand keeping keeping things in perspective, but its a bummer.

I used to be pissed when a rainout occured, I can't imagine a canceled season. I feel terrible for all these young athletes.

Most of ESU 2 will follow suit. For those that don't know, ESU 2 is based out of Fremont.
