What do I have to do to keep my seats?[/i][/b]

Your will maintain your current Club Level seats with no
additional financial commitment. Only
new Club Level seats that you request will require the additional commitment of
$12,500 per seat to the Facility Initiative (payable over 5 years). 

Can I keep my seats and add additional seats to my order?[/i][/b]

At this time you may only request to have some or all of
your seats moved inside to the glass bar facing the field. If you would like additional seats in the
Club Level, you may submit a request.All requests for new seats or upgrades are addressed in Bulldog Club
priority rank order. 

How much do I have to give to the Bulldog Club to add Club Level
seats to my order?[/i][/b]

Beginning with the 2010 football season, all new Club Level

So basically existing seats are free and clear. It's only for new seats which I think had been decided on yesterday.

each year, the overall yearly fee goes up.

For instance, you will have to pay $2,500 per year for 5 years just to get you into the Club Level. This year, the actual seat licensing fee is $1,250 just for the right to have a seat. This means you wouldpay $3,750 in 2010 for a new or additional seats.

However, that could very well go up to $1,500 per seat for the 2011 season. If that fee goes up to $1,500 in 2011, you would be paying $2,500 for the right to be in the Club Level, and $1,500 to have the right to a seat which comes to a grand total of $4,000 for the year 2011.

The only fee guaranteed not to change for 5 years is the $2,500 fee.

premium seating. Right now the supply / demand curve is heavy on the demand, so the price should go up to meet it. I think the annual price of all club level seating should go up along with chair backs (while they exist) and section E. Those sections have been sold out for a while now, and increasing those prices a little will not hurt. Because the chair backs may be going premium, and are occupied by the blue-hairs, I'm not sure that is worth the fight for the athletic department.

If we add a second club-level, either on the North side or East Side, I'm not sure that we have the demand to maintain $3,750 / per seat with that supply of seats. We would have to be winning some ball games to get there.

or buy football tickets? That is what it is getting to, unless you've got money to burn. I respect the aggressiveness and intent of this new format, but question the feasibility of actually getting new people to pay this much. I hope it works on getting tons more money in the program, but I won't be participating to that large of a degree. I'll have to stick with my 35 yard-line installable chairs in the grandstands with my paltry$400 donation.

I'm working up here in oxford today, and a doctor of mine told me he just paid $4400 yesterday for the right to buy 2, but he had been buying those for a while, and said up front it cost him even more....

.....although us little people look at it and scratch our heads, but it is the price to play in the SEC these days.....and I also don't think we would be doing it if the demand wasnt there....

Seriously though, I still think people will pony up...after a healthy round of bitching.

This really looks like the AD sending out feelers for how receptive folks will be to increased club level pricing. I can understand considering we may be tying up a ton of money in a future endzone expansion. We've got to get a good grasp for how high we can go, otherwise expansion may not be realistic.

When I score a couple of CL seats for either nothing or face value to pretty much any game I want to go see. I'm gonna love sitting amongst the suckers that forked out that cash.

But as noted on the website, A much larger donation has been needed to secure the seats. So 2x the minimum donation would be right.

Rebel Club isa bit more expensive than $1,100,...I think.
South Zone $1,100 is about what I had been told
That is, plus ticket cost... and a five year commitment on the $1,100.

I'm sure this may have changed...I have watched games from both.

1. Being that the club level has been completely sold out every year of its existence, how many "new" seats are really even going to be available? It seems to me that with these new rules, the vast majority of club seat owners will definitely renew their seats while they can at no extra cost.

2. Just 33 Bulldog Club members out of over 7,000 gave more than $5K to the Bulldog Club last year. Now, maybe most members simply weren't pushed enough but it seems to be asking a lot to demand that hundreds of people now give $3,750 per year for a seat when the number of big givers was that low.

If they can get people to pay, however, then great.

I don't think the 33 members over $5000 each is accurate. Think about it relative to the Club Level. At $1250 per ticket, anyone that buys 4 Club tickets gives at least $5000 per year. If the 33 big donors all bought in the Club level, they would be purchasing less than 10% of the Club Level inventory. We also sold 22 pairs of courtsidebasketball tickets at $12,000 per pair. That's another group of people that would have to be in the 33, possibly some overlap with the Club level, but the math on 33 donors over $5000 per year breaks very quickly.

Current club level seat donors have been paying $1000-$1250 per seat during the worst stretch in MSU's history. The cost of4-5 Club Level seats in "dollars per win"has been astronomical:

While there is apparently a waiting list for club level seats sufficient to fill another club level, that list was assembled at the old pricing. I would assume some number of those people would not be agreeable to the new pricing.

I think the new pricing is simply about the supply and demand equation as it exists today. They have a huge demand for those seats, and they are trying to equalize supply and demand. I can't see them getting that price once they have 4000 new club level seats (or whatever the number would be.)

I'm probably reading too much into this, but perhaps they have preliminary plans for the endzone expansion and those plans at this point assume 1st class design/amenities? There's probably a certain pricing for club level/suite tickets they have calculated that is the floor price to make the numbers work. If they raise prices for the existing seating at, arguably, better vantage points in the stadium (sidelines vs endzone) and they get a lot of heat for it, then they probably will run into the same resistance for the endzone prime seating. Perhaps the novelty of the new expansion would be enough to get people to pay higher prices, but that would be a risky assumption.

If there is a lot of resistance now, then maybe the AD knows we should go with the scaled back expansion with fewer bells/whistles, or in the event they don't think they can get to the baseline pricing for an entry level expansion, scrap the project entirely.

Since we don't have a T. Boone Pickens to gift us an endzone expansion, it's going to be very critical that the pricing/supply/demand realities are accurately calculated so we get the right size/quality of expansion for what our fans can afford. We don't want to be house poor.

but I'm looking at the printed MSU Foundation 2009 annual report, and there were actually just 36 people that gave more than $5K last year. Now, part of the problem may be that the certain gifts such as the courtside basketball tickets dues and other things go to different funds, but the numbers I'm quoting are in print. They're not just a stab in the dark.

Nonetheless, I agree that it doesn't add up.

I think that report is based on lifetime giving once you get above $10K in lifetime donations. There are 12 pages of folks in the $10K to $25K rangeand 12 more pages of people that have given anywhere from $25K to >$25M over their lifetimes. The Foundation Reportis also not just Athletic Department donations. It includes all donations to MSU, whether sports or academic related.
