LOL- Breitbart

Did I post a breitbart article in reply to you? NOPE. Sad how narrow minded and gullible you are. Someone declares themselves fact checkers and create a website and you automatically think it's 100% gospel. Kind of sad because it's a reflection of modern day America

Trump: "Hey Vlad, did you mess with my girlfriend at that party? Cause people said they saw you?"
Putin: "Nah"
Trump: "I didn't think so, but I had to ask. Say, you want to stuff that Marcon nerd in a locker or something after lunch?"

What does that wannabe SNL skit have to do with with your falsehood in post 2?

Otherwise don't use the word press, or simply say that it doesn't matter either way. I would have liked a firmer stance on this issue, but it's Trump's prerogative. It's just funny how the right strokes themselves to Trump's manly strength, then excuses his weak actions as "strategy". Meanwhile, Trump asks Putin to form a cyber security task force with the US, while Haley says the US cannot trust Russia to the UN. But all hail the "straight shooter". He's not PC.......unless it gains him political capital.

I don't think it's funny. Humor? Nah, relief and pride. I'll admit I feel better today about our standing in the world. For the leader of the greatest nation to apologize to and follow the other countries so they can have US taxpayers' money is not leadership. We can't afford to be the UN's ATM.

But I guess we can continue to afford to be the world's policeman....$700b+ defense budget isn't tax and spend, it isn't redistribution of wealth, it's just being safe...right?

How is redistribution of wealth? And let's not forget, it's responsible for millions of jobs. Everything from janitors, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, software, environmental, to PM, finance, and CEOs. It's also responsible for a lot of tech that we use in our everyday lives. It's not just bullet sponges walking around with guns. The ignorance of the left.

Big government is jobs too. EPA cuts, and I hear on this board from many of you...that's it's democratic big government spending, blah blah. The funds being directed into academia for environmental research, it's just democratic big government spending...never a one word about the jobs it creates. I hear so many screaming about how Democrats want to tax money from people in order to use it for crap government programs just to create a large government salary base for votes. But the defense establishment is completely different. $700b+ per year, and yet the right is screaming for more. Defense, terrorism, and now you're crying jobs? The hypocrisy of the right.

I've never screamed and bitched about money flowing into academia for research grants or tuition grants. That's ridiculous. Maybe a better look at what grants get funded as I think some of it is a bit silly but we aren't talking a lot of money in the absurd study realm.

2nd, surely you can see a difference in private industry and Govt organizations. I thought you'd worked in both.

I see a difference. I see efficiency to a degree in most cases private, but I've also seen the failure of the private sector in recognizing anything beyond the financial as a priority. This fails is in many areas. Prisons, for example, there is no real motivation for reform and rehabilitation. Education for kids without parents that care, can become too costly for the private sector. Finding carcinogens in common day products, understanding climate change, monitoring wildlife, and providing psychological and emotional support for poverty stricken youth are all areas where the market forces that drive success in the private sector simply would not contribute to efficiency.

On the other hand, I think a little private sector motivation could help us use the substantial budget allotted to the defense industry more efficiently. I understand that there are many aspects of defense I am simply ignorant of, and so therefore cannot speak accurately about what our budget should be.....but in excess of $700 billion per year? Over 800 military installations abroad?
