Who says watching the triple option isn't fun?! John Bond and our boys ran that offense to near perfection, and it was a beautiful thing to watch. And then that defense we fielded! We had some badass mfers on D.
Yes it is! Especially when you win! In both clips we were good, going 9-3 in 1980. In 2014 we ran the triple option and concepts off of it, made it to brig the #1 ranked team in the country that year, ultimately finishing 10-3, and losing the bowl game to the Paul Johnson’s triple option Georgia Tech Team.
Side note: Mardye McDole fumbled the ball at the end of that play, you can kind of see him start to dive on it.
I watched that clip several times before I could figure out what everyone did. That would be killer sprinkled in often in our games now. They say Mississippi players aren't coached up in high school compared to other states, but they can run, so we may as well adapt. It's not like we are killing it in recruiting anyway.
