Things are tenuous at best with Mullen, but Bobby Bowden said he would he would have been fired with the expectations now placed on coaches. Look what he built, do think new blood and immediate results are more important than letting a coach build something?

I think Mullen has caused an issue playing 2 quarterbacks. We have zero identity on offense. If this was 2009, and we just beat Bowling Green by 1, he would probably talk about how we didn't play well and how that performance was unacceptable. Instead, we talk about how well we finished and how we won. Sometimes, you have to look at the bigger picture and see that there are problems. Complacency has set in and it looks like the fire has dwindled. That's concerning.

Dan Mullen is paid over twice as much as the entire BGU staff including the head coach. Their roster has no 5 star players, no 4 star players and 16 three star players (4 of whom are true freshmen). Mullen is in his fifth year as our head coach and struggling with this type game ? What exactly is he building....if he builds this crap much longer we`ll be boarding up the stadium.

agree...the QB issue is overwhelming and needs to be resolved. Mullen has a conscience (to his credit). Next year his shoulders will straighten up

Well said. Mullen is nothing more than a stepping stone from rock-bottom (Croom) to something better (Hud? I don't know/care... just someone better). He was the only person who was willing to interview for the job. He helped stop the bleeding and shore things up but that's about it.

To be fair to Mullen he doesn't have too many 4 and 5 star players either..

What the hell does that even mean? Has something changed? It's still 11 on 11 tackle football.

Perfectly stated. Mullen has created his own problems by not committing to Dak, by pouting on the sidelines, and by attributing to this team's general lack of an attack attitude. I don't think it's asking too much for balls out effort, and for some reason, we aren't interested. If that is expectation, so be it.

My problem is I really cannot remember the last time we left it all out on the field for 4 quarters
and that is 17ing inexcusable.

I actually believe Mullen is in a tough place right now with this situation, and have not/do not blame him for his decision at this point. With Dak, you have a guy you are developing into being the leader of the offense next year. He is playing extremely well and the offense has identity and leadership with him. However, you have Russell, a 5th year sr. with experience, and in my opinion, has not legitimately played his way out of his job. I think for the situation, Mullen has made the right choice by playing both.

if i could bottle all the mayhem our defense creates, i would have like .2 oz of mayhem in a mostly empty bottle. not really pertinent to the op, but i thought i would just throw that out there.
