Althoff’s Ken Turner .... oh, wait .... are playoffs in the past four years required to qualify?????
MC was semi finalist before Lynch got there and he just picked up where they left off.
A coach is like the director of a movie. It is far easier for him to demolish the material he inherited than it is for him to enhance it. Hundreds of screenwriters have complained about what an egotistical director did to their scripts. It's one thing to acquire talent--scripts, acting, editing, etc.--and quite another to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Team, brother, team. Carmel is a team.
MC could go 14-0 and people will still bring up that damn De La Salle game...we were up 28-7 without 4 of our top All Conference starters, backups made a couple mistakes at the end to make it close but they still won and that’s all that matters. One thing you everyone should know to never do in high school football is base one game off another. 2 years ago De La Salle beat MC and a month later MC beat the “unbeatable” East St Louis. But Naz clocked a team in the 1st half against a team Mtc went down the the wire with?
I don’t know if MC goes undefeated in the regular season if we were running the veer still with the schedule we played. This is a completely different MC team. The playbook is so wide open. Yes Lynch got the keys to a nice car but he gutted it and rebuilt it into a luxury car.[/QUOTE
Also, I might add that he’s a lofty 4-1 against arguably three future Hall of Fame Coaches. Sunkett, Holencek and Inserra)
It's hard to stop a Meteor ! They tend to be MC Kryptonite from time to time! It's hard to stop a Meteor ! Class of 93
Dennis Piron - Batavia
If you told me at the beginning of this season that Batavia will play Naz in the quarters I would've shrugged it off..
I know, they have an all world type player and a couple other seasoned veterans but other than that, the team was quite young and inexperienced upfront.. So hat's off too Piron/Holm..
They were way overhyped imo.. Did you watch the ESL game.. I think they got a lot recognition just because of the past success of the program itself..Really?,They were the pre-season #5 team in Edgy's poll. Based on that, i would think, at minimum, a quarterfinal appearance should be expected of this team.

Mike Noll needs one more win to get some votes I would say.My vote goes to Kuska of St Rita
Here is a warren fun coach question for yuh:My vote is for McNulty as well, but my caveat is that we don't hear from the Marketing Director from Six Flags.
Without thinking too hard, Gordie Gillespie comes to mind. Here is a warren fun coach question for yuh:
If warren wins state in 8A, mcnulty will be the Nth (how many) coach to win state titles in two completely different sports. He also won as a softball coach.
Obviously coaches have won in cross country/track and boys tennis/girls tennis and boys gymnastics/girls gymnastics boy soccer/girls soccer but combinations like softball/football, football/baseball etc. hVe to be pretty rAre.
This will be our @NBCSC Live Wednesday segment so make sure to tune in Wednesday at 12PM.
So who is your Coach of the Year and as important why?
I'm sure that multiple National Baseball College Titles & multiple State HS Football titles applies to the question asked. But you got me thinking, did Gordie ever coach HS Baseball? My guess is no.Without thinking too hard, Gordie Gillespie comes to mind.
looked it up and while Joliet Catholic is a traditional baseball power, Gordon Gillespie was not listed as ever being a head coAch there. Looking at his amazing football coaching record got me thinking about one of the coaches who came after him ...Stone won a state title at Joliet Catholic and finished second a couple of times.I'm sure that multiple National Baseball College Titles & multiple State HS Football titles applies to the question asked. Has Buh won at Montini as FB head coach yet ? I think that would make it his 3rd sport. That is a good question. Cant think of any off the top of my head. I cant think of many coaches that are head coaches in two different sports. Especially at schools in the larger classes.

And he is everywhere right now showing his face to grammar school kids right now. Amazing energy and work ethic where selling the school to parents and kids alike.Has to be Jordan Lynch. 1 year after taking over the program from one of the most legendary coaches in IL history, who instead of leaving quietly did everything in his power to air the school’s and program’s dirty laundry....he goes undefeated while having a ruthless schedule and recruited 75+ freshman into the program.
The guy is an animal and he’s only 29 years old!
Like most coaches, he’s the face of the program and he’s managing the program very well. But, you have to admit he has one hell of a staff around him. Not a knock in the least, and I do think he’s deserving. The future is very bright because of him.I think they’ve been evenly matched on several occasions this year playing in the Blue, but what I’ve been impressed with most is his play selection, situational decision making. He’s managed his bullpen well, resting players when feasible to do so. He’s primed them for a Title run. He’s a chess master; this season (Lynch) has out coached some of the best. Well deserving of the acknowledgment...
Look no further then his high school defensive coordinator at Naperville Central Andy Nussbaum.
DC 1999 Football State champs
HC 2003 & 2004 Girls basketball champs, career record 604-272
HC 1989 Softball champs, career record 627-494
To be fair, most HS coaches actually have classroom responsibilities to some extent. Lynch is an "Admissions Associate."And he is everywhere right now showing his face to grammar school kids right now. Amazing energy and work ethic where selling the school to parents and kids alike.
He’s done a great job. They’re even better than last year. But they have a lot back. If they win state, certainly in the mix.The Coach from Warren is the guy that is most deserving. He is quietly putting on a defensive show with a non traditional power.
