Coaching search - seems like we will just "settle" for one?

After the euphoria of Sunday and the potential and possibility of coaching candidates, seems the we are witnessing a slow moving trainwreck of candidates that we can "settle on". Very underwhelming and seems like we may have well have kept Flood one more year as the improvement is barely incremental on the candidate names being bantered about.

hahahahaha you can't be serious... No one knows what the hell is going on, no one knows who we are talking to and to be honest no one even knows who is and who isn't considering the job. Not to mention we literally just fired flood on sunday... You seriously didn't think this was only going to take 3 days did you?? Relax posts like this are stupid since no one knows whats going on and notice how all the so called "sources" are anonymous...

Interesting that we heard nothing for 3 days and now today there are multiple sources reporting on our search. I assume we offered the job to Schiano and then sat back and waited for him to accept it. I further assume that once it became clear that he wasn't coming we started touching base with other candidates (hence the multiple reports from different sources).

I don't believe for a second that we offered schiano we may have contacted him but i dont think we offered. Even if we did i have a hard time believing that we weren't touching base with other candidates.

wow, epic fail by the OP...kept Flood for 1 more year...none of these guys are marginally better than Flood, who was as bad and stupid and stubborn as they come...getting rid of that money stealing clown was overdue and worth it on its own...an empty chair would have done better than the math tutor...

it's only been a few days, and coaches/agents are seeding names, a lot of games are being played through the media...it's about leverage...it will happen soon enough...

well, to be more accurate, no one is offered the job until a school knows that a candidate will take it. this all happens at the agent level. schiano knows he can have the job if he wants it.

If we would have gotten rid of flood in 2013 like we should have we could have Mullen as our coach right now...... just saying

Please, please, please don't give us some retread, used, loser. If we can't hire a pure winner, then let's take a chance at a winning OC or DC or an up and comer that wins. Just don't settle for someone else's refuse.

With all of the chaos surrounding the program and the fans turning against him, there was no way Flood could come back for another year. Even if this hire turns out to be worse than Flood in the long run, you had to make the move.

How do you know Dobbs and Barchi don't want to go a different direction?

JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING being discussed here is simply speculation, yet people hear something and treat it as fact. We really don't know who they're talking to, who they want, or how long the process will take. But one thing I can say for sure is that the process is not dragging. The coach was fired on Sunday. Maryland fired their coach weeks ago and just made the hire. Miami fired their coach weeks ago and is still working on making a hire.

So why should Rutgers fire a coach and make the hire within 3 days?

A bag of dog **** could have coached just as bad as flood this year... I really don't think anyone could be worse
