Flukish. You could tell we just overachevied and had a little luck sneaking in as a 3seed and had Austin Peay pull an upset. The ballbounced our way so to speak. When you get down to the nuts and bolts of it we just don't have enough talent to compete week in and week out in the SEC

he gets a pass this year.

I still find it damn near unforgivable to look like the 17ing keystone cops out there, but fact is, at the first LSU game, we had 17 games of SEC experience on the field.

Next year, I'm holding Cohen's feet to the fire.

No doubt. But if this **** keeps up he goes from 2013 being a lets show improvement year with hot seat status in 2014, to the hot seat season being 2013

Lets fire the coach a year after he takes us to the Sweet 16 (almost Omaha) when he also faced an unnaturally high number of injuries to his starters.. Like I said if we completely **** the bed this season (missing the postseason) I will be ready to fire him with a similar performance in 2013

And I never said that he sucks, I said I wasn't that impressed by him. I'm still not. He did go 3-10 this weekend, but he wiped1 of those hits away by getting picked off of 1st base. He's now 2-6 in his career in the SEC stealing bases.

not to mention that we did, in fact, beat Georgia Tech to win that regional.<div>
</div><div>If you want to *****, ***** about the coaching in the game today. Talking **** about last year just confirms to everyone who didn't know already that you're ignorant about baseball. </div>

I dont see it and havent seen it all year. We played a very week early schedule, everyone said that we will ride our pitching, we have one quality starter. Our hitting is just bad period. I dont see a regional any time soon.

#1 - Early season schedule was average, not weak by any means<div>
</div><div>#2 - We've played 2 of the elite teams in the country, plus a ranked team at their place. Not getting swept is a big step forward from recent years.</div><div>
</div><div>#3 - We accomplished #2 with a number of KEY injuries. We can only get better against worse competition with better players.</div><div>
</div><div>That said, if the absolute stupidity of today continues, all bets are off.</div><div>

And we beat a pitcher who had thrown 11 innings in his career. They would have been recruiting pitchers from the stands for game 7 if they'd somehow won that one. And the pitcher who beat GA Tech 2-1 didn't pitch against us in game 2.

We didn't have to face Austin Peay's ace. But we had to face USM's ace- a guy that had just been called "the best pitcher in USM history" per Rick Cleveland. And I would put Todd MacInnis up against GT's ace and darn sure would put him up against Austin Peay's ace.

Fortunately for us, Cohen had the brains to pitch Pollorena who shut them down and got us in position to face Austin Peay. I guess that was a fluke.

Had GT won, we would have pitched Routt against them.

They didn't, so we pitched Evan Mitchell- and saved Routt for the Championship. Either way, Routt would have pitched against GT or USM.

We managed our pitching staff awfully well during that fluke- and I think that's what won us that regional- how we handled our pitching staff.

If we had Polk coaching us, it would have been Routt in game one, MacInnis probably beats us, and then we have to go with Pollorena vs. GT.

As for beating McInnis, it's hard not beat a guy when his team gives him 0 runs. They scored 15 runs in their last 9 games. And 6 of those were in a 14-inning loss.</p>

Time will tell. But right now, it looks like Cohen will be coaching for his job next season.
