</p><p class="js-tweet-text">Remember back to the start of the SEC season, at LSU - of the nine guys on the field we had to start, they had a combined total of 17 games experience in SEC play. Let that sink in. We've been plagued with injuries, we still found a way to have a winning record in the toughest conference in the nation.
</p><p class="js-tweet-text">He's developed a 5+ ERA pitcher into a first round pick.</p><p class="js-tweet-text">He's done all this despite a particular former coach spewing piss and vinegar, and having his cronies do the same.
</p><p class="js-tweet-text">Cohen is a winner, Cohen did a remarkable job this year. He should be in the COY mix.

Renfroe, Porter, Slauter, Rea, Frazier, Norris, Frost, Britton, Fullerton, and hopefully a healthier CT Bradford, Starkand Henderson all return 1 year older with great team chemistry and some confidence. Then a staff with Pollo, Graveman, Ross and Evan Mitchell, Holder, Woodruff, Cox, Fitts, Lindgren, Bracewell, and Routt. I don't know about you but that excites the hell out of me. That's a solid group right there.

They have played a scrappy style of ball and it was great to watch them really have success down the stretch playing this way. For me, the squeeze plays they put on today really accented the confidence they seemed to have picked up since the 5-10 start.

The future really looks bright when you consider how deep we went in our roster to achieve this. Not to mention the guys we will get back that were injured.

The team took on Cohen's tenacious personality down the stretch and it is definitely his team now.

Why is everyone so sure that Routt will be here next year? Wouldn't he have to apply for a medical RS to be allowed to comeback? And I thought he couldn't wait to get out of here. I could be totally wrong about that, but I wasn't expecting him next year

It may have taken a little longer than some desired, but Cohen has built some talent, depth, and chemistry that appears to be setting the table nicely for the next several years. The pitching improvement and Butch's work have been damn near miraculous. In a way, it's starting to look more and more like a baseball version of the Mullen approach in a sense of how we are becoming more talented as well as deeper in talent. The main difference there is the JUCO beginning that Cohen had in year 1. I'm excited about things, and hopefully we see similar things out of Rick Ray early in his tenure.

I feel that Cohen thought it wouldn't take quite as long to turn the program around. That is how far we had fallen and how void of talent we were when he took over. We will return just about everyone, minus Reed, Stratton and Brownlee (Routt not a senior) and have a very nice class coming in. We also have the top player in Mississippi in the 2013 class in Reid Humphreys committed. Barring major injuries again, next season should be very good. Keep in mind that we are doing all of this now without CT Bradford and Ben Bracewell who have been hurt basically all year. We haven't hit worth a damn all year and we blew three SEC games that normally you would win. If we would have won those, we would be 37-18 and 19-11 in the SEC and looking at being a national seed in the NCAA's. Amazing that we are that close with what we experienced, injury wise, this season. Steve Gendron must be pissed.

The only 2 guys from last year's team that would start on this one are Parks & Vickerson. Shephard would have about the same role. That's it. I hate to go all Crxxms, but anyone who claims the talent level isn't any better than Polk II either isn't looking or blind.

The attitude change within the program is really clear, too. The last 2 years we've seen this team hang around and gut out wins where they'd have gotten beat 8-3 under Polk II. Cohen's attitude is clearly rubbing off on these guys.

Hopefully this JUCO kid from Cali we've signed will be our answer at 2B. If he is, this team could do some SERIOUS damage next season. I'm damn excited about our freshmen arms. Lindgren's game yesterday was nothing short of awesome. I think it's time to look at him as the 3rd starter ahead of E Mitchell for the rest of this season, considering Mitchell's control issues.
