I see so much poor English here and on other boards, in the newspaper, on news sites, and hear it on television that I'm afraid it's going to contaminate my mind and I'll start talking and writing like that. Do they still teach English grammar in school??

There were plenty of hits over the weekend, so I don't really understand your point. That 1 that State put up in the bottom of the 8th should have won the game.
Fitts pitched a whale of a ballgame. 4-5-6 were up in the Top of the 7th. Why not make the change there? Lead-off man gets on. Why not make the change then? Wild pitch. Single 1st-n-3rd no outs. Get a strikeout. Then we make the change. SQUEEZE and the tent falls down. That's baseball.**
I wouldn't have taken the chance that deep in the game with the middle of the order. Reliever works 2 innings with the bottom of the lineup and hopefully close it out with the top of the order in the 9th and a fresh arm.

Vandy actually outhit us by 3 over the weekend, 26 to 23. The hitting was pretty terrible in game 2 and game 3, we got a total of 9 hits in those 2 games.
We are still struggling at the plate, Rea and Vickerson especially. Thankfully, Detz has completely returned to last year's form.
