Looks like they made great decisions to go pro. Getting paid and possibility of meeting in the Super Bowl vs The Music City Bowl.

I would feel very safe to say that if they would have stuck around, they wouldn't be meeting in the Music City Bowl. It is possible but they would have been a huge help on the defense this year. It did prove beneficial for them to go pro though.

Why? How many games did we lose because the DTs didn't make plays? Depth yes, better play? Sure. But what one game was decided because someone ran it up the gut and we couldn't stop it because the DTs failed?

Now if a Joe Ganz or Zac Taylor were playing QB, or if we had a few healthier OLinemen from year's past, or DEs that generated sacks and set the edge consistently. Those were glaring weaknesses. But DT wasn't a weak spot in what they are asked to do

Gregory playing next to collins pretty cool to see. Even though Gregory is not in season form
Gregory is holding himself back from his maximum potential; up to this point. With VV and Collins also doing well; one should understand we do have the facilities to get it done.

Yeah he's got his priorities mixed up.. I'm not against marijuana by any means, but if it's getting in the way of life then put the stuff aside and take care business.

DT play is a huge factor in games. It dont have to he a run up the middle. With 2 guys like that in the middle, a team could have to concentrate more on double teams in the middle and leave a DE on a lessor experienced guy that could win that battle. If yiu think they wouldnt have made a difference, you are nuts. Those guus could have been game changers in the Wisky game as well.

Didnt Iowa run up the middle on their first 75 yard TD run?

I didn't say they wouldn't have made a difference at all. I just don't see how with those two players we were going to win any more games than we did.

They were both on a team that lost 7 games last year and even with the double teams they attracted, we had little to no pass rush.

The Wisconsin game should have and could have been won without them

Take away the one run by Iowa and its only 33-10. I don't see your point.

I think people are looking for reasons to explain blowout losses. The low hanging fruit is well we lost 2 DTs early to the draft.

Adding those two dudes doesn't fix poor QB play, poor OLine play due to injuries/ experience and as we saw last year, even with double teams they commanded, the DE sack numbers were fairly consistent year to year.

They both should be embarrassed for thinking only about themselves by leaving early. Left their teammates hanging out to dry.

Am I doing that right???

I can think of nothing but positives had they stuck around, but I'm not an insider and don't know what their attitudes were about this staff, which would matter.

Bottom line, if they played for us the way their playing in the NFL, HUGE positive. If their unhappy and stop going to class and are a disruption, no big loss.

Kind of like coaches. If you have to over pay a guy to get him to take the job, he's not doing you any favors because when it comes down to it he didn't really want to be here.
