I know there Comcast threads pop up from time to time but I just got in and it appears that they have added 30 or so new HD channels. This Sunday I will be watching Breaking Bad in HD. Also another espn channel called ESWHD. Don't know if that is a West Coast channel or what. Just looking at them, many channels I have never heard of.

I noticed the tennis channel in HD last night (high 300s).

My wife still thinks we only get up to about channel 60...

ESWHD could be that Women's only Sports station that ESPN was trying to start up.<div>

I was not home last night and just got in this afternoon and there they were. I live in Madison, so I don't know if that matters.

I even have QVC in HD. What the hell would anyone need QVC in HD for?

The new HD channels are a result of the digital transition we made out of the Madison hub. Metro Jackson area will soon follow. The transition is being made 1 hub at the time to limit call volume. If you are in the Madison area and have any tv's hooked directly up to the wall with no dig boxes or dta's u can only get up to channel 23 or so.

Practicallydestroyed thedollars and energy I put into making my WindowsMedia network,no more picture in picture, and negated any parental controls on my kid's TV unlessI buy a bigger box.

Not your fault I know, but I'm bitter.

Who do you talk to on that thing? I realized that the only time I used the phone was talk with my parents or my wife talking to hers. The only other time was when someone called for a survey, to extend a car warranty, to change credit cards, or looking for me to donate money to a certain cause.

We turned it off and honestly have not missed it.

1. We have an alarm and I know you don't have to have a landline anymore
2. I still don't entirely trust cell phones in my house. I like to be able to walk around my house and talk on the phone and not drop a call.
3. Comcast seems to give you better deals and work with your more if you have all 3 services.

Jackson should be a couple of months away for adding all the HD channels. Like I said they will do it in waves for all our different areas. As much as we have pushed this digital transition, subscribers didnt pick up the dta's so when we flip the all digital switch in an area....BOOM we have like 200 trouble calls come in a day with subscribers demanding techs come out and fix their tv's because they are missing channels above 23. As soon as the Madision calls go down and our Jackson hub is ready(totally up to our engineers) they will add the channels to Jackson. The on screen caller id should be b4 the end of the year. We have soooooo many updates that are coming to the Jackson area its just gonna take time to get it all done.

Hope that helps but thats all the info I have now

Would I be correct in assuming that Rankin will get all this dead last after all of Jacktown and Hinds County are done? One thing Comcast is never late on is the price hikes, everything else, not so much.<div>
</div><div>I've been fed up with Comcast, had horrible download speeds since June and they send tech after tech out here and can't figure out the problem.</div>

Sounds like HD will be kicking in here just after Breaking Bad's season is finished. It makes me ill watching such an amazing looking show in crappy standard def. And I've been praying for HD Comedy Central and Fox Soccer channel for years too. If my apartment allowed satellites I would have dropped Comcast long ago because of the better HD options elsewhere. <div>
</div><div>Thanks for the info though. Glad to know that I might be seeing some more HD before the end of the year. </div>

No, Rankin has a totally seperate headend than Jackson. So their migration has nothing to do with Jackson. So it will happen in Rankin as soon as they have their headend prepared.

the good parts, it takes the fun out of movies like Animal House and Blazing Saddles-they even cut the fart sounds!@#
