Long Time lurker here...

I need to ask my fellow dawgs a favor: A current MSU student and I (alum) have developed a mobile app that allows concessions to be delivered to your seat after you place your order and pay on your phone. You won't ever have to leave your seat to wait in the long lines...

We're trying to communicate how many fans would like this service so if it sounds like something you're interested in could you take a few seconds to go to https://sportsnax.com/sportsnax_v1/m/ and click on the "Tell MSU You want this App!" button and fill out the form and click yes! and submit it!

Thanks!

P.S. We're aware of the horrendous AT&T service at the games and we've got a solid workaround. Appreciate the help SixPack!

Hail State,

Daniel Payne

Very cool idea. I wonder how many people extra would have to be hired to make the deliveries. Only $1.50 surcharge isn't bad at all.

Yeah, being the accountant brain of the operation, I've analyzed this part to death. It shouldn't cost MSU anything extra in terms of delivery labor even with a small $1.50 surcharge. Thanks!

Yeah I figure the school would break even on the pay for delivery and would also increase sales overall.

Has anyone pulled it up on their phones? I know it looks good on iphone and android, but haven't had a chance to see it on a blackberry yet or other devices. Any feedback?

Good idea. At Texas Rangers games, in certain seating areas, they have folks who will take your order and relay it to concessions via a mobile device. Then a very attractive young lady brings you your order in 5 min. or so. It did cost extra to order from this method over getting up and going to get your own and you were kinda expected to tip the pretty young girl who brings your stuff.

Yeah there are a few other companies doing this in a few select areas of the country, we're not the first, but we want Davis Wade to be the first down here. We also didn't want people to have to download ANOTHER app that they use a few times a year, so we made ours device agnostic. Thanks for the feedback!

I haven't gotten my nachos yet.

What's the solution for the crappy service? I don't even bother bringing my phone (AT&T) to the games anymore.

I like it, but what about people who order huge orders. The surcharge stays at 1.5.

So what is the consensus on a $1.50 delivery surcharge? Would you all willingly pay that to avoid the lines and have in seat delivery?

We've got a couple of things we're looking at so nothing is final yet. We want to see if the fan demand is here before we present our solutions to MSU.

I would. But only if it comes reasonably timely.

Are you talking about trying it in certain sections first (like 100s, 200s, lower west or east), or going for the gusto off the bat for the whole stadium? Just curious. Cool idea.

I imagine we'll run test sections initially to get a solid grip on logistics. After that - open game.

I like the idea but what about the non Aramark vendors like Little Caesar's and Dreamland...those barbecue nachos are the best thing in DWS in my opinion.

Agree! Those specifics will have to be worked out with MSU when we get there. I will keep you all posted though as we progress through this!

Any suggestions from the bulldog nation on what you would like to see with this? We really want to tailor it to what the fans want - you all are a huge part of the development in this. All suggestions are appreciated!

I like the idea but would like more of a selection. I usually buy the BBQ sandwiches at the game.

Hail State,

Thanks! I need to make a point that the current menu items/prices you see are strictly for our app testing phase. The actual items/prices will be updated to the real deal when/if we reach an agreement with Mississippi State. Thanks!

$1.50 actually sounds pretty cheap. I guess it depends on if I'm ordering a coke or ordering for my entire family. I think this is a great idea and wish you all the success in the world. These types of services, the ones that pay for themselves and are optional, should be encouraged.

How about a requested delivery time - like "end of first quarter" or something like that? So you place your order even an hour before the game (for us AT&T folks) and it's delivered right when you want it.

Personally I probably wouldn't use it because I like to walk around a little at halftime anyway.

Just please add a cup of ice to the menu. I will pay full price for that to be delivered just like I do when I walk down there. I really don't need anything else for my bourbon.

A few questions

When does payment take place? Do you pay upon delivery or pay when you place your order? What forms of payment will you accept?

Hate to be a buzzkill, but I'm not excited about this. In theory it's a fantastic idea. But as someone who sits on the end of the row, I'm not thrilled about the prospect of having to interact with someone delivering a tray with 4 drinks, 2 hotdogs, a pretzel, 3 snicker bars, and an order of nachos, for the family that sits in the middle of the row when we're 3rd and goal. If there was a way that food would only be delivered during time-outs or at half-time, it would be great.

Who actually makes the delivery?

Is this just an additional service provided by Aramark (or whoever is the food service vendor)? Or, does a third party buy direct from Aramark, deliver to the seats, and make money off the convenience charge / tips?

As opposed to having a family of four try to get out of the row during that same 3rd and Goal? I'll take a guy handing me a tray to pass down every day of the week over people climbing over me.

I've worked hard for years to set a tone on the row that discourages such.

Cool idea. I would definately use you. With two young girls it seems they are always wanting something.
But to reiterate what has been said above, I believe the cell coverage (or lack thereof) is gonna kill you idea.

Good call! But of course we don't officially endorse having bourbon in the stadium...what you do with your ice is up to you haha

As of now if you pay by plastic, you'll enter it in on your phone and it will be paid there. If your order for some reason isn't fulfilled (don't see why it wouldn't be, but crazier things have happened) the card would be credited back.

We're still exploring cash as a payment means that would be paid to the delivery guy, but that will come down to the negotiations with MSU and their policies - I'll keep you all informed.

Aramark will handle the deliveries and it's their food. We never own the food. Thanks!

Data coverage is certainly going to be an issues, especially with AT&T Customers due to their data model. There's no doubt this is going to be an issue that will crop up in the early stages and we've got a few workarounds to mitigate it. As with any new technology/business model we forsee issues that will have to be adjusted as we master our craft. I feel pretty good about the direction we are headed though. Thanks!

How exactly would the delivery be passed down the row? A tray that would have to be passed back? Box? Bag of some sort with covered drink?

I'm thinking a cheap box that's just passed down the row. How is the order to be received? When it's placed would a small thermal printer print out a seat number with the items? Then fill the box, stick the label on the outside, and pass down the row.
