I wanted to break off this thread from another and move it into a separate discussion and away from draft potential.Dak will be fine by August- but we all know Dak isnt going to start. Russell is.
The worry comes in about the bowl streak staying alive. We can win 6 games with Dak at QB- grinding it out ball control, playing D...etc....alot of us are convinced if we run that same turd of a game plan we ran last year- we wont win 6 games. A new group of WR's doesnt help the situation.
It's a good discussion and has merits on both sides. But nobody thinks Dak is going to start at QB next year unless Tyler gets hurt or we get off to a very bad start on offense
1. Do you really think Dak can lead us to 6 victories? Which ones are you counting with Dak/Dan's new "run-first-second-and-third" offense? Do you remember the last (half) year of the Relf-Coast offense in 2011. It wasn't pretty. I agree that the D is going to have to play light's out to win 6. The problem is the game plan, not the QB. We have to run the ball with success, inside and outside. But if we can't be balanced, we don't have a chance anyway. New WRs and new QB are not a good combination. Russell will get the ball to the WRs, it's up to them to catch it.
2. This whole "Concrete Feet" perception isn't what the film and numbers show. We had one of our lowest sack totals (16= <2/gm) in history with us throwing the ball more often and Tyler waiting for deeper routes to develop. And let's not forget that he ended with an excellent TD/Int ratio. Fans forget that Tyler moves well when we move the pocket. I hope that he's given more of a leash this year to float outside the pocket if he feels it breaking down. As the videos show below, he's got enough mobility to extend a play a la Tom Brady. So, the "Concrete Feet" should be retired until further notice.
