Ok.... Duke , Virginia lose in the tournament.
Notre Dame wins ...

Duke and Virginia will be seeded higher.,,

What. .., how can that be???
I thought conference championships decide the best team and conference champion.

The football crap of having a championship and it hurt our conference is another excuse that the basketball folks have moved past.

Ok.... I am still working on getting over it ...:)

Please don't 'get over it'....... let's see, in football the conference championship game mattered, but in basketball the conference championship game sometimes doesn't matter.

Hell, if that did make sense to somebody they would need to get over that.......

It's very important...

Tell me how you felt after we won the BE Championship. How did the fans, school and state react to that win? How did Huggy react? Check him out at the 4:08 mark.

In basketball, most always, all teams in conference are invited to play in the tournament. What do you suggest when, on the rare occasion, the poorest record in regular season wins the tournament? I think you can easily distinguish that situation from football when the best record is named champion.

No.... the conference championship game winner is the champ ...not the best record in the football conference.
That is my point.....

I do prefer "every game counts" in football which is our conference motto

I get it....

it's back to money in every case ....
who do you want paired in the football or basketball tourney. ......then make up the story to justify your case.

Yes....the basketball tournaments are great entertainment.

It still doesn't mean if a basketball team didn't play in a conference championship they didn't get in.

Notre Dame was an independent forever, and they got in.

I am done.....beautiful weather out here. Time to go hit some golf balls...:)

Depends on the Coach

The B12 conference championship was important enough to Self to risk additional injury to Ellis ahead of the NCAAs.

It wasn't important enough to Huggs to risk aggravating injuries for Staten and Browne.

I'm with Huggs.

Of course the conference you are referring to makes a difference. Conference that gets in only by tourney win becomes the only criteria that is valid,
