TCU has a news conference this evening. They're expected to announce they're accepting the Big 12s offer. The Big East, at 6 teams now, has decided they want to expand to 12 teams. Look for CUSA East to get decimated.

Also, in his column yesterday Rick Cleveland said that his sources said the SEC does have some interest in Missouri but nowhere near as much as they did with Texas A&M.

There's no question at all that Missouri would apply to the SEC if we gave them an indication that we'd take them. They were begging the Big 10 for an invitation last year and they're begging the SEC for one this year. But I really think the SEC isn't in anywhere near as big a hurry to expand as a lot of people think they are. I'd say it's pretty close to 50-50 whether the SEC would invite them.

Funny sign in Manhatten KS this weekend. It said, "Hey, Missouri, the SEC called. Oh wait, they didn't."

I just think the possibility of them being admitted if they were to apply is rather high. They have decent....athletics but the state does have 2 rather large tv markets. Them also being an AAU institution has a good bit of weight to it as well.<div>
</div><div>My only question is who else would the SEC add in the West though? Right now, they seem to be the best option at the moment if they were still open to expanding.</div>

Only legitimate reason not to take them would be if you want to stay at 13. Which I think there are some good reasons to stay at 13 (I know I'm in the minority). There are some schools that are against taking them (Bama, probably Tennessee) and it only takes 4 no votes to kill it. What's going to really piss me off is if they turn Missouri down and then take West Virginia to placate Bama, who wants a 14th team to be from the East so Auburn will stay in the West and the Bama-UT game will continue to be a permanent game.

That would be an odd move if they added them just to fill for a 14th member (unless my memory is a little faulty).

because the only other team out there that might be SEC worthy would be WV and they are definitely less attractive than Mizzou. The obvious appeasement to those wanting a team more Eastward is to actually put Mizzou in the East. Its actually closer from Columbia, MO to Athens, GA than it is to College Station. Here is an article that touches on SEC possibilities division wise if Mizzou was to join.

I will gladly not play bama, auburn, arkansas, and lsu every year.

Florida vs LSU - we've actually split with Florida over the last 20 years.
Bama vs UGA - we don't really do well against either of these teams, but we usually have given bama a good game up until the last 3 years (thanks Saban).
Auburn vs Tennessee - Tennessee has loads of problems right now in all forms of athletics. It's definitely not "great to be a Tennessee Vol" currently. They've outperformed themselves over the last 20-30 years and are coming back down to earth. Like others, I used to like Auburn but seeing their fanbase embrace Chizik and Trooper Taylor gives me the runs.
Arkansas vs South Carolina - I'd rather drive the distance to Columbia than go to Fayettenam or Little Rock any day. We also have twice as many wins over USCe than Arkansas.

Our perm west rival would be TSUN. Plus Vandy and UK each year? Sign me up. That looks like 7 wins at least every other year to me
