Congrats team.
Memorable milestones:
1) Fewest points (18) allowed in regular season. (2 TDs. - both in 2nd half and 2 FGs.)
2) 26th 10 wins or more in a season
3) 12th time winning first 10 games of the season
4) 7th shutout of season (ties school record set in 1934 and again in 1968)
5) 34th conference title

Thanks for creating new historical numbers. Make some more!

Great Great Great season. Defense swarmed to the ball. Always said i was impressed more with the D. Offense was good..Defense was phenomenal. Defense was so good..it seemed as if the offense didn't have to do much LOL. Offense however scored fairly easily on whoever they played. But that defense seemed to take massive pride in adjusting and being where you wanted to be faster than your player could get there. Impressive Bunch for sure. Good luck in making the NWC proud during this tough post season coming up

One TD was at Daraughn right before the half other was vs S Stokes at end of game.

An observation from last night: Mt Airy seemed to be more in sink at the beginning of the game than they have in the past several games. Perhaps not quite where they were at the beginning of the season but, to me, it seemed they were much better. With everybody back, give them two more weeks of practice, they could be back to the well oiled machine they were early season.

Also, I feel that while Allegheny was out classed, they had some good players, they played hard, had some success. Not sure about their health or number of players out but they did not lay down and play dead.

Any thoughts?

My airy is the greatest team ever ! If it wasn’t for holder still calling the shots and running up scores on schools that don’t matter , the bears wouldn’t be the greatest of all time . Too bad we didn’t see that East surry game to really see how great they are ! Good luck to all the west teams , and for god sake one of you hand my airy their *** , most mouth I’ve ever seen this year with your bragging !

Coming from well I can't say it on here yea I regret East hid second week of the season don't run that mouth when you don't show up to play I feel like if you had ole Folger would have been setting on his *** some just saying

I'm interested to see if east wilkes gives mt airy a better game in 2nd rd with #3 on the field.

I wasn't bragging sir. I was just congratulating the team. I thought before I posted these great accomplishments that people like you would show their true being. I started not to post, but figured the kids deserve to see these landmarks which they did not know. These message boards turn into hate talk and it shouldn't be.

It will be interesting to see if both are able to advance. Also, MA will have many key pieces back they did not have the first time the two played. I know #3 brings speed to EW, but MA has speed all over the field. It will be interesting to see if that has any effect on him. He probably has not seen a D with the speed of MA. But he is a great player, so hopefully both teams will get a chance to see.

OObviously you haven't seen both teams play. I'm not even really that big of a Mount airy fan but I'm pretty impressed. We wouldn't have beat them if we had played. Although I'm a little sour on the cards with what they did to Dave. There's still my team. I think that the congratulations was warranted. It's a good bunch of guys. From a football perspective. They're probably one of the top four teams in one a. Probably top 10 in 2a. It's nice to see these Podunk rednecks talk junk though. Don't think anybody said Mount airy is going to do any dominating. Just like East Surry I don't think we'll do much dominating past the second round. However I think we can win. And I think mount airy can too. Be proud of your team bears. I'm proud of mine. Only wish we had gotten to play. And on the contrary I hope you hand these boys from west of Asheville their hine in..

And as I said recently, fly high Cardinals. Mt Airy is proud we are neighbors.

Wish our local teams good luck , except for mount airy ! Hope one of the mountain teams shuts that mouth ! Play someone then brag about all the great accomplishments.

TD you’re just as arrogant as your fellow ma posters , you guys been on here all year talking the hype , everyone knows in surry county for years , you guys run up scores on kids that can’t compete at all , then you sit back and talk crap . Saw a post a week or so ago we scored 50 or 60 and had 3 of our best players out , wow !
So don’t act like you guys aren’t arrogant .

Some of our fans may be over exuberant and extremely passionate but this team and Coaching staff are hard working and very humble. These kids love each other and these Coaches are building a culture that emphasizes academics, sportsmanship and work ethic. These boys are becoming young men that we can be proud to represent us. GO BEARS and good luck to all NW 1A and 2A Foothills teams!!!

Anybody on this or any other thread that says Coach Adkins ran it up on poor helpless teams certainly did not see any Mt Airy games. The system was the same, first team until end of first half or until a running clock and then everybody else played. Some times I was pretty sure he was thinking about playing the cheerleaders.

The man and his staff are class acts. To all the haters, get over it. You just wish either Atkins or Holder or both were coaching your team!

He played the 3 Rd string QB to start 2 nd half other night. Started game with 2 nd team guys in first half. MA could scored 100 most games this year but didn't. To say MA ran it up in games is BS!!!!
