True, and it makes for real simple game plan too. Hit a field goal and keep the opponent on their side of the 50 the rest of game. Lol
For me the big question is how they'll perform when they get in a close game. When was the last time MA even had a close game and how did they do in that situation?
Honestly, in my opinion I don't see that happening until the fourth round.
Andrews could possibly have a little something for them. I don’t see Andrews winning but they may make it a game for a little while.
Then again Andrews has to win 2 games before they have the chance to take on Mt Airy
They went 10-0 and won the conference and high seed in playoffs. Is that what you meant? Good point though, and thanks for pointing that out. Oh, and if you will look at MA history, they win. He is doing it for the kids and the MA family. Tradition means something to us. Daddy Doug is well respected and MA historian he does all the history for Bears football. He absolutely is proud of the kids of MA Atheletics.Hes doing it for the kids folks.
Well, duh. MA's entire trash conference got lumped together on that side of the bracket. If they didn't challenge them before, why would they now?
The NW 1A has had 4 different teams to win state championships since 1998: Elkin (4), East Surry (1), Mount Airy (1), and Starmount (1). Seven titles for a “trash” conference seems pretty good in the history books.
I’m going to take up for MA Historian because he shares the same feelings I do with my Rams. I published a book about my school’s football history and Doug is also passionate about MA’s tradition. Most schools would be lucky to have people who share our passion for our school!!!

We can talk junk about the conference but Mitchell never completes the deal..SMC did adopt Mitchell..but for them to be so good...there have been no football state titles for them...not sure who is in their conference this year...but Mtn Heritage gettin skunked by Mitchell by 30 plus points doesn't make for a good conference either...if MH is second place...
I'm not sure why anyone is trashing any conference. It doesn't appear that any outside of the SMC was competitive at the top this season.
