That's probably as good of a draw as they could've asked for. I got to see them play USA on opening night and I thought we were at least equal and probably better than the Jags. USA ended up winning, but we certainly could've.

It would be awesome to see them make a run to the Supers or even farther. Vann is an excellent coach. I hope she stays at MSU for a long time.

If you're in the Mobile area, I encourage you to go watch them. Always a fun, family-friendly experience. I never thought I'd like softball, but it's been enjoyable on the few occasions I've gotten to see them this year.

Agreed. We live in Houston and got to watch them play U of H last week. Brought my daughter who plays 6U ball. We went down to field level during warm-ups and the players invited her on the field to sign a ball and take pictures. Coach Vann walked by and talked to her - asked her if she played, what position, etc. Really cool to see the players and coaches taking the time to interact with a young fan.

Unfortunately, we got hosed by two terrible calls that night and lost by 1. Team still sang Hail State to the handful of State fans that were there and thanked us for coming. Great players and coaching staff.

Looks like South Alabama is building a nice little mid-major program. Hosting in softball. Possibly hosting in baseball. Has incredible basketball facilities. Now has a football team. And one of the very handful of mid-major type schools nationally that has a medical school.
