Hopewell 7 Phoebus 6. Great win for Hopewell. I am seeing a Hopewell vs Heritage state championship game now. Battle of the best running backs in state. Hopewell better score more then 7 or they are going to get beat by 40! I believe right now with 8 teams remaining that Heritage is the favorite to win the whole thing.

The Peninsula District ain’t what is used to be, that’s for sure. Phoebus, Hampton , Heritage, Woodside. All underperforming these days.
SR gave up 47 to Northside? We will score 100 on them if they don't play any better defense then that! We will beat SR by at least 14. We are going to be in the state championship.
Thought Phoebus was supposed to dominate D-3 when they dropped down. what happened?
I know how you feel. We ripped York, they play home and we travel to Suffolk and Poq to Goochland in the woods west of Richmond. Luck trumps everything.
The whole Peninsula district is shakey these days. The teams have little offense across the board.

Heritage gave up 38 to a slew of backups from JF. SR will score 138 points on Heritage if that defense shows up.

Nobody is beating Heritage...they going to be in it....cash it in. Whoever they play from the East doesn't matter. Like I said from the beginning of the year after smacking SR in benefit game....heritage is winning state championship game.

I don't call a kickoff return for a td, a 70 yd fumble return for a td and taking over at our 5 yard line after a bad snap to our punter that lead to a 2 play drive, smacking anyone around. That was the 3 of you 5 scores. Do you really believe that will go like that again? I saw a SR offense move the ball between the tackles with a lot of success. I saw a Heritage defense that was fast in pursuit, especially to the edge. But north and south they can be had. We have to take care of business first vs LB. Which is no easy task by the way. Just like Heritage should focus on Brookville and not be like you and think they already have won it all.
So I'm assuming it's A/B and C/D in the state semifinals?

You better hope the pioneers aren't looking past the bees like you are. You know that wasn't an easy win for Heritage earlier this year. You know other than busting a big one late, Davis was mostly contained in that game. He definitely didn't have his usually Davis type game. These bees don't always win pretty, but this is a Scrappy group who will fight until the end. They are also very much battle tested through the first two rounds of the playoffs. Heritage is supposed to win, but if they look past Brookville they will be at home for round four.
Yes that's the format. I believe the champion will come from C or D. But stranger things have happened.

That's your opinion and that's fine. I don't think the win earlier this season was easy so I have no reason to believe this one will be either. Maybe you saw the game different than I did and that's ok too.
Not sure what you mean by gift wrapped. That was a hard fought game that could've went either way. By the way, you don't see me on here mouthing off bold statements like you buddy. I know that LB is fully capable of beating us. If SR plays mistake football, I like their chances. If not, then we could be in trouble. Both teams are capable of representing the west.
Can someone please tell me why everyone thinks Hopewell is bad? Can any of you without looking tell me who they lost to. The finished 6-4 with an opening game loss to Norcom (When Norcom had everyone healthy), Class 6 Thomas Dale who would beat everyone in Class 3 west, Class 4 Dinwiddie who beat Dale 28-0 and Class 5 Meadowbrook. Only one semi bad loss in the group. I don't know if they will even win this week, but I wouldnt count your chickens before they hatch.
Chucksteel, I usually agree with you on most things, but I wouldnt consider last years beat down of Hopewell a fair assessment. Yes, you beat them handily, but four starters were suspended the night before the game including their starting qb. I am not saying SR would not have beaten them anyway, but what would have occrred if SR lost Overstreeet, their fullback, mlb and de? Would you still be the same? Heritage and SR are both good teams and can very likely beat Hopewell if they make it. CS and Pioneer dont assume it will be a walk over. They have played tough against two teams better than both of you.

Fair enough. I knew about the suspensions, and yes that matters. It would make a big difference for us as well. I don't recall saying it would be easy traveling. We're any of the offensive lineman suspended? Just curious. If not, I know the Walker kid struggled as did that huge fullback. Believe me, after losing the championship game to a team who was 2-5 at one point in the season,we don't count our chickens early. Now pioneer4life, that's a whole different story lol.
Hopewell plays a lot of kids both ways, so yes there was at least one o lineman. I still think you guys would have won, because they didnt and still dont play the run well.

Walker, does struggle against physical defenses, but their qb and a very fast freshmen gives them options in the running game. Their reveivers were young last year, but have matured nicely and Cuffey can throw it if given time.
They have to win this week and next, but if they do I believe they will give you a better game at a nuetral site. Plus W&M is 45 minutes from their school and they should have a decent crowd. Especially, if my boys (Dinwiddie) can make it back. Personally, I think you guys will have a tough game this week against LB. They are healthy now and played you tough last time. Heritage just does not have a weakness anywhere..I think they are way above average at every position on offense and defense. I just don't think you can say the same for any of the teams left.
Teams "without a weakness anywhere and way above average" don't lose(see Glass) or barely scrape by(see JF). Heritage is good and might win it all but, they could just as easily spit the bit, particularly if they find themselves in a tight game in the fourth quarter. Your mouth or keyboard fingers are writing checks that are not definitively coverable by the talent on the Pioneer team. One silver lining, if they lose, Torrence can hit the recruiting trail early without all his Northside baggage to get them more talent.
Exactly right. I agree with you 100%. I would even bet that the heritage coaching staff would like to find out who pioneer is and ask him to keep his comments to himself and they aren't reflective of the way the heritage football team thinks. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen anyone from heritage on here saying something like that, or maybe I missed it. This isn't an all-time great team and it doesn't warrant the kind of boasting that he does. Very disrespectful to all heritage opponents past and present.

1. Statistical information tells me Davis is 75% of your rushing offense and 51% of Heritages total offensive production. What happens if Davis is slowed to say 25%?
2. Heritage struggled stopping the Jefferson Forest rushing game and gave up 38 points and if they had any defense would have possibly prevailed. Staunton River and LB, likely have better offenses and defenses than JF. How will Heritage slow these teams down?
3. Just like EC Glass, Hopewell can match your athleticism and speed plus they will spread you out and throw the ball. Does this concern you at all?

Not to mention he is almost always wrong when he makes predictions outside of predicting heritages 11 wins so far this season. Pioneer I surely hope you aren't a gambling man. You don't make alot of money placing bets using your heart instead of your head.

If you slow down Elijah Davis who I think is the states leading rusher then yes you have a very good chance to beat the Pioneers. The qb can throw a decent ball and can move so they’re not necessarily dead in the water but they feed off of the long extended and busted runs of their RB. I’m pretty positive in the last 5 weeks he’s busted 2/3 opening long runs to the house. He’s a threat but if you play defense like glass has which might be one of the top in the state 3a/4a HHS will be looking for answers.

The regular season win wasn’t an easy win but this is a different Heritage team than the regular season team and unfortunately, this is a different Brookville team from the regular season game. Brookville has been decimated by injuries since that game while Heritage has gotten better. Heritage had a new starting QB that game which limited their passing ability. I keep telling everyone that the difference with Heritage now is that they’re able to pass the ball very well, not Davis. No offense but, I would be really surprised if Brookville kept it within 3 TDs.
