The arrogance of the University of Texas and their fanbase is unequalled in college sports. If y'all know any of their fans you'll understand my stance.

it is sickening dealing with them on a regular basis. You would think they have Alabama's, Notre Dame's, Michigan's & USC's history all rolled into one tidy package in Austin. <puke></puke>

Yea... I know high school players already committed to Texas weren't getting the exposure they deserved

He said, in the next 5-10 years, the BCS schools will leave the NCAA and start their own association.

He said, it's simple: money. The BCS schools can keep all the money and won't have to share a dime with the other D-I (or for that matter D-II or D-III) schools. He said it's not a secret at all for those in the Div-I college sports business and is not an "If" but a "When"... I think what Texas is doing with the Longhorn Network is just another step down that road.

Anyone who has (or has not) followed English professional soccer, this is basically the same thing that happened about 15 years ago when the big clubs "left" the FA structure and started the English Premiere League. It allowed them to keep their proceeds from huge TV contracts without the requirement to share them with the lower division clubs (at least that's the way it was explained to me). Pretty simple - it's about money.
