Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan...

#2 JUCO WR in the country per 24/7 composite.

My thoughts about him last week: http://forums.sixpackspeak.com/showthread.php?98973-Big-Visitors-this-weekedn
"Barely recruiting him" eh?

He is every bit the receiver Chad Bumphis is - playing a similar style - on day 1 IMO. Was the best offensive weapon at EMCC this year, while often playing across from Nick Brassell. Still trying to find a highlight tape from his soph year at EMCC - because it is going to be very impressive. I watched them play alot live this season online, thus why I'm even higher on him than most.

Smith's story is very interesting.

He plays at Grand Rapids as a freshman. They go 11-0 and are ranked third in the NJCAA. And then they suddenly drop their football program. Pretty surreal. He eventually ends up in Scooba, and now he's coming here.

Or we just don't need a JUCO WR. That's what happens when you have two WRs and a QB returning who embarrass the Thorpe Award winner.**

Could have confused me... with the extent to which you've gone after the following:
Quadarias Mireles - Ole Miss commit from Hinds CC - composite 85 3*
Zach Witchett - Ole Miss commit from Hinds CC - composite 84 3*
Jatavius Stewart - 4* from Hutchinson CC with Ole Miss offer
Jonathon Rumph - 4* from Holmes that committed to Georgia that you went hard after
Quantavious Leslie - 4* from Hinds that committed to LSU that you are STILL going hard after

That's interesting. I wonder what could make a JUCO drop their program while having success. Glad they did, though!

It's really sad that with every kid that commits to State someone has to throw in the "OM didn't want him" comment. At this point the only one Freeze would take if given the opportunity is Q. Leslie. But I know it's important for some on this board to feel like they've beaten OM for something.

It's a "tongue-in-cheek" response made from years of hearing it consistently spun that way by Ole Miss recruiting websites, that outside of Neal McReady, can't seem to EVER admit things as they really are in regards to MSU. Call it elitism or whatever - because it isn't realism.

You've already taken two guys that aren't as highly rated or recruited as Smith. I guess, not surprisingly, both teammates of Leslie. The same Leslie that is also lower rated than Smith in composite ranking. That said, Leslie is an absolute stud - and he's without question THE elite juco outside deep threat in the country IMO, while Smith(and the other two you recruited) are more slot guys.

That said, we did not beat Ole Miss for Smith. They never went after him for whatever reason...

From what I've been told, he has several off the field issues. If we can keep his head straight, he'll be a great player.

I actually made the comment in a double sarcastic sort of way...

He has lots of great offers, but not one from ole miss. ole miss literally did not want him.

Hell, I guess he could take 6-7 Juco WR's since he offered all of them. But, I think he only wanted to take two and it was first to commit gets a spot. Leslie is the exception; he would have a spot regardless.

Whitchett is a CB and we placed Mireless, who is a very good prospect. With Q, we are filled up at the slot and only would take guys that you can't pass on (Rumph, Leslie) because we don't have anyone that tall. If Corey was 6'3 and not a slot guy we would have gone after him hard. That downst mean he's not a very good player.

How can you live and die by what 247 says? I'll agree with you that it's the best, but damn, human logic trumps computer rankings every day as long as you can stay unbiased. Jake Thomas is a 4 star and that Brandon Hill kid that Bama didn't want, that Bama is probably about to flip from us is a 3 star. Do you honestly think Jake is a better prospect? One committed to Bama out of HS and got an extra year to develop at hargrave and still is getting recruited extremely hard by Bama even though they are short on numbers. The other doesn't have an OOS offer. And don't give me the normal rhetoric of "he shut down his crootment cuz he all dog!". That kid tried his hardest to get an offer from Stanford and UNC. Whitchett committed to UGA out of HS and if you ask any UGA fan, they know who he is because he is such a good athlete, but no he sucks because websites say he's a 3 star. You're better than that Engie

Once again, you don't know this unless you are always over here. So stupid of you to continue trying to make this idiotic point. Not surprised though

Every single OM fan that gets on any message board knows about this boards obsession with OM. This board has threads linked from it on OM and SEC boards. Do I go to Nafoom and start threads about state? No, yet you start one about OM weekly. Yeah we are the obsessed ones.

Jake is a composite 3* using the rankings I cited. That isn't living and dying by 24/7 sports - that is using the cumulative total of all 4 evaluating sites to make a general analogy. I didn't give "my opinion" in anything you cited - I simply gave numbers. You formed what you "thought" was my opinion from those numbers - when in fact - I didn't even bother putting much thought into it. I simply made a counter in order to slaughter a ridiculous quote.

I think Sunny Odogwu - the soon-to-be final piece of our HS OL class - is the best of the bunch on our side. He was at Hargrave, and he started across from Hill. I know all about Brandon Hill - we recruited the hell out of him in hs, and he was a major State lean before Alabama got involved a little later in the game. We liked Odogwu better at Hargrave, which is why we didn't go hard after Hill this time. Bama is taking 3 more hs OL - so I wouldn't read all that heavily into the recruitment of a single player.

I just really want to know how you took a simple WR comparison and turned it into an OL debate?

You brought up Whitchett who isnt a WR so I didnt see the need to stick to WR's. And big surprise that you like a kid who you care competing with Maryland for over a kid that Bama really wants. As far as bringing OL's into the discussion, it was the simpliest comparison that I could come up with, which was a bad one since Thomas isnt a 4 star composite. My apologies.

Once again you stupid mother17er....If EVERY Ole Miss message board is talking about, and linking, SPS threads, would that not make you guys the one's that are obsessed? We're discussing **** amongst ourselves over here, not linking **** from Ole Miss boards. Quit trying to make a terrible point when all it does it make you and your fan base even more obsessed with State and what State fans are talking about. Are there threads about OM over here, yes...you guys are our rival. BUT, many of those threads would fall off of the board rather quickly if it weren't for you trolls coming over here and chiming in in defense of anything anti-OM on a MSU board...once again, see the irony? Not to mention you, Jacksonreb, VickyReb, and Homer starting threads over here. You are just making my point every time you try to defend your obvious obsession.

Im not the one that has a problem with the whole OM discussions. In fact its what draws me over here from time to time. You are the one who has a problem with OM fans telling you you are wrong about OM subjects. If you have such a big problem with it, then stop talking about OM. Every single time you complain and tell us gummy bearz to go talk about OM on OM boards, I will tell you if you want to stop us to stop coming over then stop starting multiple OM threads every single day. And yeah, when yall start stupid threads that are so ignorant they are funny, like Freeze to TT... Those threads will get linked over. Sorry, but they are funny and entertain us. And bull 17'n **** on you dont link OM threads. Do you link as many? Of course not, we dont talk about you near as much, but a thread that was talking about Coach34 was linked over here this week from Nafoom and it wasnt even about State. And EVERY OM board isnt talking about you or linking your stupid threads. They have been linked from time to time as in once a month. Thats all you need to create the reputation that you have. You ask your own fans about the posters on this board who post on SEC boards and they will laugh at the craziness that occurs here. I understand your need to talk about us, but as long as you talk about OM ignorantly, OM fans will come over here to correct you. My only advice is to either stop being a cry baby or stop starting idiotic OM threads

You are the one who has a problem with OM fans telling you you are wrong about OM subjects. If you have such a big problem with it, then stop talking about OM because the OM posters who come on here, do not troll and they dont get involved in state threads, thus not doing anything wrong and arent going anywhere. Blah blah blah....Look, I am fine with you dipshits coming over here, glad you enjoy it...but don't come over here and act like we are obsessed when you are hanging out on a MSU board is all I'm saying. Everytime you get your little panties in a wad, you pull out the "y'all start 100 threads a day over here" card...but in reality, you are just making yourself look stupid by bringing that up. Besides, if you and your buddies (nobody ever says "gummi bearz" except you guys about yourselves, which is pretty funny), make up such a large percentage of the board these days, would that not explain some of the OM threads?

Bottom line, if you want to discuss **** and talk ****, fine...but starting the "om threads" **** every time you get your little feelings hurt or when you're proven wrong, is not only *****, but it makes you look even more obsessed.

ETA: Riddle me this....Is it dumber for a fan of MSU to start a "Freeze to Tech" thread on a MSU board, or an Ole Miss Journalist to start a "Mullen to Colorado" story in the National Media? Think about the term obsession while you're chewing on that.
If you come over here thinking it's going to be a "Congrats to Ole Miss on a 6-6 season and Egg Bowl Win" extravaganza...then I can't help you. Either way, this argument is stupid, and by you doing this on our board is all the proof I need that I am right.

Please to God, show me how I got my feelings hurt. Me telling you why we are here after you cry about it is ME getting my feelings hurt or my panties in a wad? Good lord. And large percentage? I post over here maybe one day a week and only if yall need some help with OM topics. You named three of us, so no that doesnt make sense of all the OM threads especially if you throw a hissy fit everytime we post over here. And you are correct, "kluckers" has replaced gummi bearz. Equally as clever and non obsessive**

Now excuse me, I am going to go check out the other threads that Ole Miss fans are posting in on the Northwestern message board. #Obsessed
