I seen u only asked once... New Bern...Washington..... Northside Jacksonville .... West carteret .... Let me say this... It's the same schedule they have played the last 3 years and west has had no answer for them.... Havelock is in the same boat new Bern is in. Not awhole lot of teams want to come here and play.
Nobody addressed the drop in talent. The absence from the playoffs before 2009. Can they get by the rough road ahead this year ? If they do?? Will they be beat up when they get to the ship ?
Give JBB credit. He gets the most out of his players and he's got an exceptional staff working under him. The JV team hasn't lost a game in a couple of years and they will reload next year. They will lose Sabdo and Boykin but they'll return Sharpe, Bowman, Joyner and pretty much everyone else. I do believe this is JBB's last year at Havelock, however.
I'm not sure it will be much of a rough road. I think they will handle both the 1 and 2 seeds and meet Crest in the finals. If NB doesn't make it to Winston Salem, I'll be attending the match in Raleigh. That game has slobber knocker written all over it.

I believe those rough years came from their 30 year coach retiring in the early 2000s. It will be interesting to see how they make out the next few weeks. I believe they will be ready. We will have to wait and see.... They are not unbeatable. My bears did it. They will hold their own and bryant will have them ready. They are fundamentally sound with a lot of speed... The speed has been the difference maker in the last 3 championships.
Have you guys tried setting up a game with 2a Dillon in S.C. ? I hear with the points system they have. It's hard for them to get good games.
I know they have reached out to southern durham and a couple other teams. Maybe one from va. Problem is everybody don't mind setting the game up but they want havelock to travel and not return te favor. Same thing with new Bern... We have played the good teams but nobody wants to come to Caruso coats to play. We played Richmond like 3-4 times but all at their place. They won't come to nb.... There is only a couple quality 3a & 4a programs east of Raleigh. We use to travel to wilmington 3 times during conference play before they redid everything. That's a 2hr bus ride. Now we are in a split conference and it's horrible!

Havelock asked Southern Durham for two year deal earlier this year at the UNC clinic. Wish we could of seen the game the last few years with Scott and Hinton but better late than never. Havelock and NB are in a tough spot scheduling wise. NB has to go two hours to Hillside and two to Laney to find a 4A team that wants to play us.
Thoroughly understand split conf. They suck.I don't know what the nchssa is thinking . I guess they have to consider all sports.
yes it does.....the travel is bad during the season..... i wish we could play more tough teams but gas money and schools constantly compalining about cuts and pay... thats hard to justify.

Havelock does have a problem getting schools to come and play. As said earlier, everyone wants the Rams to ride 2-3 hrs for a game but they do not want to return the favor. I know that Jim Bob was able to get New Hanover as a non-conference game for the next 2 years.

I from Havelock and I can tell you there's always been loads of talent there and won the conference more than any other school going back to the 70"s 80"s and90"s but I can tell you there was a system in place during those years to give seniors the edge when it came to playing it was something the head coach who was there just believed in that and a lot of players stopped after jv But that all changed when Jim Bob got there if you can play he's going to use you there were a number of last year team that has all three state rings because they were freshman on varsity Jim Bob and his staff just knows how to use what they have 3 state titles in a row with 3 different quarterbacks speaks to that

They won more games that season (8-4), with many of the same players, than the previous 3 seasons combined (7-26). Without a doubt prior to 08 it was coaching. During JB's tenure Havelock is 90-12 in 7 seasons with 6 Conference Championships and 3 State Championships. The only team to beat Havleock, thus far, in the past 4 years is New Bern (2012, 2014). Prior to that the last team to beat Havelock was Eastern Alamance in the Eastern Finals 2010. During the same 7 years the JV team is 64-4 with 5 undefeated seasons to include the last 4 in a row with a 42 game win streak. 3 Freshman are already D1 prospects.... Yes, I know it's just the JV but, where else do you reload from????? Some of us don't get 4 quality transfers from a rival school...lol....easy Rulz.... just poking some fun....... As for the rest of this season; Havelock is not just jumping to the Finals. They have an opponent this week and that is the focus. One game at a time. Play hard and hope everyone stays healthy... Thank you guys for allowing me to vent about the pre Jim Bob days Since his arrival a lot of former students have some thing to get excited about that's why I've been talking trash here and there but I know we have to take it one game at a time I have a lot of respect for you guys out west Back in the day the states seemed to always be won by west teams in 3a football I hope all teams stay healthy GO RAMS!
