Could Favre get a minor fine or suspension for the crackback block?

Just curious what others think. I think it could happen. If they don't get Favre on this one, they won't be able to punish the second string fullback or rookie guard who does the same thing and ends a great career.

Do you seriously think the NFL is going to treat Favre and a 2nd sring fullback or rookie guard the same?

Childress should be punched for putting Favre in that situation. I've never understood why you put an immobile QB out there. It does pretty much nothing.</p>

The comparison is not made to put Favre in the same category with those guys; it's to highlight the point that the screwup on Favre's part was very obvious and will probably have to be dealt with to maintain the integrity of their authority.

I think he just got caught up in the moment and screwed up in an innocnet-guilty sort of way It wasn't malicious, but it was wrong. As for putting him in that position, I say why not? That play is on the dance card these days, so you've got to run it. He could have turned and made a legit block or just stayed out of it. Just a bad moment. I hope the Texan player's injury is minor.

Overall, Favre played a great game. I'm excited that he's out there.

Why do you do it? It's pathetic that I forget the backups name for Minnesota but I did. Put him out there to run that play. What's the difference? He is more athletic than Favre. He can probably block better than Favre. I know he can run faster than Favre. There is no logical reason for Favre to be out there.

But if you think they're going to give Favre more than a slap on the wrist, you're just wrong. What's with this "maintain the integrity of their authority" ********? You think the NFL would rather "maintain the integrity of their authority" or have Favre playing against Green Bay the first game of the season? I can promise you that's going to be a damn easy decision for them to make.

He played good and didn't meant to hurt the guy. He should take his fine (if that happens) and we should move on. Favre has not thrown a block in years so the play should have been run the other way.

pretty much between the knees and waist. Looks like he hit him in the thighs.

Again, not proper, but not the worse we'll see this year.
