Guess who was flat KILLING it making money during that time? People still working in Florida, not dead of course.
Not doing as well as my home of Virginia, which has had a far lower per capita case and death rate than Florida due to more stringent lockdowns and masking with Democrats in control of the Governor, Lieutenant Governer, Attorney General, and both the state senate and house of delegates throughout the pandemic.

In fact, Virginia ranks 9th (out of 50 states + DC) for fewest cases per capita and 13th in fewest deaths per capita. Florida on the other hand? 8th in most deaths per capita and most cases per capita

And would you look at these unemployment rates dating back to January 2020. Bolded are the months in which each state had the lower unemployment rate head to head. As you'll see, Virginia has been dominating Florida, winning 15 months to only 6 for Florida. And that's in spite of the lockdowns and all the other measures taken to help contain the impact of COVID.

The Merck test results says it reduces covid hospitalizations by 50%. What's the ivermectin test(s) percentage reduction(s)? Thanks.
It's basically impossible to legitimately compare percentages from drug to drug. Every manufacturer uses different standards and formulas for how they come to the %s they state.

Ok, simple question: whom would you feel safer working next to—an unvaccinated employee who tests weekly, or a fully vaccinated employee who is not required to test?

I'm sincerely interested in what people think about this. Especially, their justification for their choice.
The vaccinated. Far less likely to get COVID in the first place. It's like asking an ovulating woman who doesn't want to get pregnant which person she'd rather have sex with, the guy who wears a condom or the guy whose birth control consists of pulling out. Yeah, if I were a woman, I'm not taking my chances with that pulling out guy.

And as far as weekly testing goes, it only accomplishes so much, I think it's mostly useless as a preventative measure. Seems like it's more effective at encouraging/annoying people to get vaccinated more than anything else.

Say you go to a party on A Saturday night. You get exposed there, end up getting COVID from that exposure. You go in for your weekly test on Monday, chances are you aren't going to test positive because you tested too early. So what good did that weekly test do?

The vaccinated spread the virus just as frequently and efficiently as the unvaxxed
No, they do not. The vaccinated are far less likely to get the virus to begin with. Thus they spread it less overall. Can't spread COVID if you don't have it, after all. Additionally, the vaccinated who get COVID spread it at a lower rate than the unvaccinated who get COVID. But we'll go with your false statement that spread it as frequently and efficiently as the unvaccinated do for the analogy below.

So I'm rolling with a basketball analogy here. JJ Redick and Matt Bonner each have a career three point percentage of 41.45% in the NBA. So when they hoisted up a three, they both statistically had a chance of making it 41.45% of the time. But Redick was far more likely to make a three pointer in any given game than Bonner was. They shoot it at the same rate, but Redick much more likely to make a three than Bonner, what is this sorcery??

Reddick had a career average of 4.5 three point attempts per game, Matt Bonner 2.3. So statistically, even though they both make three pointers at the same rate of 41.45% for their career, Reddick was actually nearly two times more likely to make a three pointer in any given game than Matt Bonner was.

So even if the vaccinated spread COVID at the same rate as the unvaccinated (which they don't), the unvaccinated are considerably less likely to spread it overall because they just don't get COVID as much.

So @Nbacats you think at this moment more places should be shutdown with more stringent lockdowns?

Where I live this next week is my favorite all year, Powerboats! The whole town will be full with people from all over. Races roaring, drinks and food flowing, huge crowds to watch, live music at all the venues at night, the Powerboat Parade today which I will be at will have the street packed.

You honestly think none of this should happen or are you a really bored person just trolling?

Right now? Generally no. At least not here in VA. Case load is small enough that lockdowns aren’t necessary. Think it's only like 15 cases per 100,000 in the last 14 days here, and I know locally our case count in the hospital has been steadily dropping every day. On Friday we only had three in the ICU.

Here’s to hoping Delta is the last significant wave so everything can stay relatively good here like it is now. Going into prime sick season though so time is ripe for a new strand.

It's absurd when people keep trying to politicize data for talking points...which was the intent of all this insanity from the beginning (remember when people were crying when people were on a beach...lol)

The data is all over the place on lockdowns, populations that hide under their bed, ppl that think Fauci is the only doctor on earth, etc, vs others.

For example:
Vermont is the highest vaxed state in the country. Florida is 21st. VT covid positivity rate is 3.5%, Florida is 2.6%. VT infections per 100k is 136.25. Florida is 12.74

The 2nd problem with your stats is you're negating to provide what baseline unemployment rates looked like before the pandemic compared to where they are now.
Stats provided directly from Bureau of labor and mayor clinic. Also, you didn't calculate whatsoever, the oer capita number of govt employees that are in Virginia...that didn't have to worry about losing work.

Also, I've been vaccinated, but I understand why people are hesitant to believe these people. When the main person if the CDC makes fraudulent statements as such. So much so, that the ppl in the British version of the cdc commented on how insane this is. This is blatant disinformation...backed up by zero science. Remember when they said life could resume when 70% were vaccinated....well 80% are, and now they're putting mandates in. They will move the goal posts forever. At some point ppl will have to have nuts to live with it...its not going to zero ever.

And this from WHO with several studies

Would be nice if we just carved out a little space in the US somewhere and let them have their perpetual covid. Could give them DC and the northeast. Let nbacats and anyone who still gives a **** about case counts sit in their basements and whine about Florida on their own perpetual covid intranet.

The rest of us will continue with our lives as we have been.

There isn't a single state in the USA where 80% are fully vaccinated. The best is 71%. There are only five states that are at 70+%

And Vermont’s cases per 100K is only 45 over the last 14 days https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/us/covid-cases.html

Got any more fake data you want to provide?

So you put this Merck drug up against ivermectin & you couldn't believe a difference in results if there were differences? I mean why even run effectiveness tests? Just sell anything.

Because effectiveness tests are important for determining if a drug does what it claims it’s supposed to do. They aren’t designed to compare drugs. They are designed to measure the effectiveness of that drug. The effectiveness of drug XYZ is irrelevant to if drug ABC is effective or not.

Again...we are literally weeks away from an antiviral medication with 80% already vaxed and likely a high amount with natural immunity. Mandates and all of this is nonsense....with no plan other than holding onto power.

The federal mandate is likely not going to last once the legal battles over it are all said and done. Would require the Supreme Court to overturn their precedent from over 100 years ago that said vaccine mandates are a state right.

I never visit this thread. But, today I heard from yet another vaccinated employee that they have Covid. The majority of those positive are vaccinated.

How long are we going to pretend everything is ok?
