The difference is that we have a 49 year sample size with car seats. If a child in a car seat can still be injured or killed in a crash, what’s the point of requiring car seats?
For me, it has nothing to do with my personal faith and everything to do with not falling in line with coercion - even the fluffy-bunny kind of coercion that comes in the package of the "do your part" mantra you're spouting. What does the vax have to do with religion?
Get the shot, wear a mask. Do you part.
Bigger question: who are you to say who should take the shot or not? Let people make their own choices. Why shouldn’t a Christian take a shot?
And I don't understand your lack of discernment.Well brother, as one Christian to another, I simply don't understand your statement. There is no Biblical support for this vaccine being the mark of the beast. This reminds me of an old joke and, no, I'm not making fun of you with this. I just think it fits.
A storm descends on a small town, and the downpour soon turns into a flood. As the waters rise, the local preacher kneels in prayer on the church porch, surrounded by water. By and by, one of the townsfolk comes up the street in a canoe.
"Better get in, Preacher. The waters are rising fast."
"No," says the preacher. "I have faith in the Lord. He will save me."
Still the waters rise. Now the preacher is up on the balcony, wringing his hands in supplication, when another guy zips up in a motorboat.
"Come on, Preacher. We need to get you out of here. The levee's gonna break any minute."
Once again, the preacher is unmoved. "I shall remain. The Lord will see me through."
After a while the levee breaks, and the flood rushes over the church until only the steeple remains above water. The preacher is up there, clinging to the cross, when a helicopter descends out of the clouds, and a state trooper calls down to him through a megaphone.
"Grab the ladder, Preacher. This is your last chance."
Once again, the preacher insists the Lord will deliver him.
And, predictably, he drowns.
A pious man, the preacher goes to heaven. After a while he gets an interview with God, and he asks the Almighty, "Lord, I had unwavering faith in you. Why didn't you deliver me from that flood?"
God shakes his head. "What did you want from me? I sent you two boats and a helicopter."
I'll answer this when I get to work but you won't like it.And I don't understand your lack of discernment.
1. Covid came from China. It was man-made. Do you see our national leaders promoting any type of sanction on China? There isn't even an ongoing enquiry. Red flag on the discernment meter. Red flag #1.
2. The vaccines were rushed to the forefront and approved by a desperate government in need of solutions. Most vaccines take 3 to 10 times longer to develop. The ones we have were made in about 7 months. Red flag #2.
3. The lockdown has decimated small business. In some states, as many as 35% of small businesses have ceased to exist. The same local and state leaders pushing for the vaccine simultaneously have created mandates that have very nearly wiped out small businesses in this country - many mandates that make no sense from a practical level. Red flag #3.
4. We've heard that if 75% of the population gets the vaccine, a "herd immunity" will develop. Well, look at the areas where close to 75% received the vaccine - the government is still pushing for more-more-more. Why? Red flag #4.
5. These directives have further split the American church as churches have struggled to meet protocols. Red flag #5.
6. People who are getting the vaccine are still dying or getting sick. The Covid-related death report numbers are not accurate. Many people in the medical field are coming out and saying the Covid reports are inaccurate and fudged due to funding. Red flag #6.
If the vaccine works, why are you so worried about the people who haven't taken it? Shouldn't you be fine?
Boohoo.lol
And my job is going to suck because I’m going to have to help figure out how to monitor vaccination status or testing of 1,000 employees spread over 40 states if our dipshit politicians get their way. Please pray for me.
After I got done chuckling at all that I decided to give you a thorough response. So, you think I have poor judgment but you actually think all of that? Wow.And I don't understand your lack of discernment.

If the vaccine works, why are you so worried about the people who haven't taken it? Shouldn't you be fine?
Let's start with the first point and expand the conversation there (your condescending "know-it-all" attitude doesn't give much hope that you actually want to be taken seriously, by the way). The biggest elephant in the room was and still is the origin of Covid. Why are we no longer asking where it came from and how it came to be?After I got done chuckling at all that I decided to give you a thorough response. So, you think I have poor judgment but you actually think all of that? Wow.
Lets do this item by item since you were nice enough to enumerate your frustrations with my discernment.
1. Yes, covid came from China. No, you can't prove that it was man made but it possible. Perhaps you should read this very good article from Nature. It doesn't seem skewed one way or the other and it is informative. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-01529-3
Since you are attacking me with the discernment notion please note that I have no authority to launch any type of investigation into covids origins. If you do, please do so. Red flag #1 isn't getting you very far since it isn't fully accurate.
2. Oh boy, I love this one. I'm about to use a word you won't like but I'm not calling you stupid. You are however ignorant. In fact, you were so ignorant in that that I had to laugh. One almost has to be intentionally ignorant to believe what you posted there. First, there was no rush. The technology, mRNA, is new. It has nothing to do with old fashioned methods to create vaccines. Your complaint is akin being dubious that a plane can take you from NYC to London in hours instead of needing months on a schooner. Just so you know mRNA isn't new. It's been around for decades, used in research for cancer mainly. The primary framework for the covid vaccine was already done because of SARS but SARS went away and they didn't finish. The covid vaccine basically needed tweaks to finish it. Hence a quick turnaround. This is all verifiable information. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-03626-1#:~:text=The world was able to,moving more quickly than normal.
3. You're conflating ideas and consequences that don't necessarily belong together. Here in Georgia, we've lost few small businesses. Our governor has a brain. He also encourages wearing a mask and getting a vaccine but doesn't mandate either. Our schools are open and have been since last fall. What is your red flag for on this one?
4. What areas have 75% vaccinated rates? The data is pretty clear that the vaccine lessens symptoms. There are for more breakthrough cases than they were expecting but at least the severity issue is right. You can see this in Israel pretty clearly. 80% of Israel is vaccinated. They are the best real world model of what is going on with vaccines and covid. The stats don't help your argument or your red flags. https://www.timesofisrael.com/hospi...-ecmo-machines-used-for-critical-covid-cases/
5. Most places have no church "directives". What are you talking about. The issue for most churches is the split between the vaccinated and unvaccinated. That is causing serious problems. My mothers small church in Texas which has 250 members has lost 14 so far with 1 on a ventilator. Not a single one of those who died has had the vaccine. Who and what is your red flag for here? I'm not certain you're following your own thought process.
6. Yes, people will still get sick, a few seriously and even fewer will still die. The vaccines never claimed perfection so why do you expect it? Look at the hospital stats in Kentucky. If you don't trust the state, listen to the local leaders. The overwhelming majority of those in the hospital, seriously sick and dying are unvaccinated. That really isn't a debatable point any longer. We have the National Guard at 20+ hospitals because the staff is overwhelmed. Thru all that you'll come back with...liars, you can't trust them...blah, blah, blah. Look, science is science. If you don't like it, fine but don't try to infer some giant conspiracy theory among myriad governments, 10's of millions of drs and researchers. If you have some substance to support your idea that we're simply being lied to, present it, but be cautioned. I'm sick of whacko sites making **** up and lying thru their teeth about the vaccine. They are feeding nonsense to the ignorant who lap it up like pablum. Don't take the vaccine, I couldn't care less. Just don't whine when people die unnecessarily because people like you are needlessly crowding hospitals.
Where did you copy that from? And I don't understand your lack of discernment.

Aren't you that weirdo poster who tries to stir up trouble all the time?Where did you copy that from?![]()
I don't mind continuing but what do you want me to do when I've researched these things ad nauseum? As for it's origin, as the article mentioned, most researchers think it occurred naturally. I'm not concerned about its origin because it doesn't change my reality. I can't answer the question. I can't help anyone else answer the question. However, we still have the virus to deal with. The biggest issue is access to data which China will never grant. I don't think this will ever be answered with 100% certainty.Let's start with the first point and expand the conversation there (your condescending "know-it-all" attitude doesn't give much hope that you actually want to be taken seriously, by the way). The biggest elephant in the room was and still is the origin of Covid. Why are we no longer asking where it came from and how it came to be?
If you blow off that fundamental question - a question that doesn't seem very important to you (you claim to have discernment, but the origin of Covid isn't a concern to you - why is that?) what is the use in addressing the other points?
Convince me with your tone that this is a conversation worth expanding.
I thought the exact same thing when I noticed the font of that post was different from every other post on the page. Gotta be Facebook.Where did you copy that from?![]()
That's actually only partially true. The antibodies in your body have a finite amount of time to protect you. You could easily get covid again. Oddly enough it's the same way with the vaccination. You may get it again but without many problems. For me, it has nothing to do with my personal faith and everything to do with not falling in line with coercion - even the fluffy-bunny kind of coercion that comes in the package of the "do your part" mantra you're spouting.
My body is capable of building up immunity to Covid. Clinical studies show that anyone who already had Covid doesn't need the shot. I had Covid last year.
Why should I "do my part" when I've already had Covid and built up antibodies naturally?
No.My body, my choice.
(did I get that right?)
Weird logic.No.
Abortions aren’t a contagious virus. If one of my coworkers gets an abortion, I very likely won’t even know about it. And at least it seems most people hold off on telling anyone but their father and a doctor that they are pregnant until after a few months, which is beyond the point the vast majority of people even get an abortion anyways. So doesn’t effect me in any capacity.
If one of my coworkers is unvaccinated and gets COVID, then they has exposed everyone in the office to a deadly virus. And there are quite a few high-risk people in the office. Luckily all the coworkers in my practice are vaccinated as far as I’m aware though.
Yes. My shop has been closed the last week because one of my machinists got Covid. 3rd time this year. Twice pre-vaccine, this time post-vaccine. He's doing OK, no ventilator, yet. We're all praying he makes it out of this. Hospitalized all 3 times. He has two young sons.Has anyone, or do you know anyone that has gotten sick with Covid that got it again and got sick enough to be hospitalized, or died?
I'm not talking about testing positive or getting the sniffles but actually sick enough that you would have had to stay home or visit a hospital.
Thanks, I've been wondering if it has happened. That poor guy can't get away from it, hope he recovers okay.Yes. I recently lost my uncle and cousin to Covid, both had been vaccinated.
Full disclosure, I'm fully vaccinated.
John, it seems like certain folks are just more susceptible to contracting the virus. Vaccine or not. He's a fairly healthy guy, young. Me, I've been exposed to Covid more times than I know. I've had not so much as a sniffle. I don't think any of this is as hard and fast as they want us to think. Thanks, I've been wondering if it has happened. That poor guy can't get away from it, hope he recovers okay.
An unborn child is indeed biologically a fetus. That is the definition of fetus. More specifically, from nine weeks after fertilization until birth.Weird logic.
Abortions lead to 100% chance of death. Covid is still around 98% to 99.75% chance of survival for those who actually get it.
You could at least own up to the fact that the logic is contradictory, but maybe you see an unborn baby as a fetus and have no issue with that?
When I drive by the hospitals that still have their “Heroes Work Here” banners still up, I reminisce that just a few short months ago that they were all heroes. Some heroes are more employable than others.
To give them ultimatums after doing the work for the last year and a half...
Well, well, well, how the turntables...
Thanks heroWe also have to get the flu shot among other vaccinations but I don’t recall you nutjobs throwing a fit until now.
The fact people working directly with patients are floored that vaccines are being mandated is beyond me.
Whatever- if it’s worth being canned over, stay strong.
Thanks hero
I think you are thinking of yourselfAren't you that weirdo poster who tries to stir up trouble all the time?
But, the hospitals are overwhelmed.F off
But, the hospitals are overwhelmed.
Prime time to let people go. Many forget that.
It floors you that people want to make choices about what's put into their own bodies that you might disagree with? Human agency floors you?We also have to get the flu shot among other vaccinations but I don’t recall you nutjobs throwing a fit until now.
