I know this has probably been discussed, but is there anyone that can tell me the "official" stance of the cowbell policy at DNF? I had to sneak my cowbell in by concealing it in my cargo pocket at the JSU game. I beleive I heard someone say that they would not actually serarch for them if they are not in full view. I plan to bring a pack and probably wrap it in a parka in the bottom of the pack. I would think that would be safe. No way I'm leaving my cowbell at a gate, much less my sons.

The official stance is and has always been no artificial noisemakers. I had mine stuffed in my pocket for the JSU game and hod no problems-however I have hard some people were "frisked" and had their cowbells taken or made to return them to their vehicle. Agian-I had no problem getting mine in and will do the same this week expecting no problems. I do wrap my clapper to keep it quiet just in case though.

Officially, Cowbells are prohbited at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field on the campus of beautiful Mississippi State University.

I don't ever see them searching anything but bags at my gate, though. Listen, just do it the old fashion way. Stick in the back of your britches and put on a jacket over it. I can't ever recall seeing them pat someone down. And then, don't act like a 'tard with your bell once you get it in and you will be fine.

is that they are not allow as they are 'artificial noisemakers' which are prohibited by the SEC. That much is stated on the back of your ticket.

Byrne has said that there will be no pat-downs which basically means that if you conceal the cowbell, you should have no problem getting it in. For the JSU game, I just got my girlfriend to put mine in her 75 gallon purse and had no problem getting it in. The event staff guy even picked up her purse and felt it from the outside.

The official stance is that they are illegal. And since they are illegal, there's not going to be any official stance on how you or I might get into the stadium with them.

From a practical standpoint, I always carry in a bag that has ponchos and whatever stuff my kids want in the bad. Cowbells are at the bottom of the the bag. They've never done anything more than look at the top of the bag. No way they are seeing the bell without emptying the bag's contents.

Times I've gone in without a bag, I stuff the handle in my pants (back side, not front) and pulled my shirt over the bell. I stayed close to the person behind me (or they stayed close to me) and I didn't turn my back on the guy looking for cowbells. No problem...clang clang clang...

The official stance is that "cowbells are not allowed in the stadium for any game." However, once it's inside you are fine. They will check backpacks and big purses. They just kinda shook my wifes purse with a lame attempt to hear a bell. The best way to get them in is to stick the handle down the back of your pants and walk in. That's what that crack back there is for!!!!
