"we can't bust you for what we know (read: think) you did, so we'll overzealously bust you over something minor, whenever we find it."

and busting someone right before the NCAA tourney starts? that just screams of trying to sweep **** under the rug. something in that bust is gonna smell, and they don't want the shows obsessing over it for weeks.

at this point, the NCAA's smartest move would be to let Auburn hang themselves. bust them over what you can, impose rules you know they won't follow (because they're too damn arrogant), then bust them even harder and repeat the process until the death penalty comes out.

or what is left of it is on the line with this Cam deal. There is just way too much smoke on this to let Auburn skate by unpunished. I would imagine the pressure on the NCAA behind the scenes regarding Auburn is pretty intense. Just my opinion.

All 3 of those programs had extended periods of mediocrity in the 80s and/or 90s. If they're not cheating, they're going right back to those times.
