If the CEO wants to fix it, this is the problem. This is the yelp review of the two Cracker Barrels by me and I am in the middle of what should be their people.

The movie Founder illustrates the issue. The corporation wants to make money but the McDonald's brothers wanted to provide good food and service. The money too often wins out.

Yes the one in Horn Lake is awful. It takes 2.5 hours to eat there.

Traveling, I never minded stopping in one for breakfast or lunch, I sort of knew what I would get. (if there was not a line outside).

Real Country Food Thread hijack. Had the privilege of stopping at my favorite country store in Buckatunna coming up to Starkville tonight. I’ve never had their chicken tenders before. Holy cuntshit. Those are the best tenders I have ever had in my life.

I haven’t eaten at the one here in Tupelo in probably 10 years. Last few times I went it was absolutely disgusting… floors dirty, orders would be wrong, utensils dirty - I remember my fork having a huge crusted up green bean on it… that was the last straw for me. But I crave it like hell anytime I’m on a road trip that takes me thru Tennessee or Georgia

I have boondocked in their parking lots in the RV many nights and ordered breakfast for pickup the next morning. As long as I can still do that, I’m good

They fell into the minimalist trap like all the other places. Applebees and Wendy’s have done it too. The Wendy’s in Hernando on the inside looks like you’re getting ready to remodel and have the walls primed and you left a few tables and chairs to sit around on.

The food and service went to hell and instead of fixing the problems, these idiot corporate suits decide it's their customers fault and they need to reinvent themselves to get "new" customers.
Absolutely correct. They are blowing shareholder money to update everything but the issues. And ultimately the issues will sink them. A restaurant has two goals. Great food. Great service. The building can have squeaking boards in the floor and 5 year old calendars on the wall and be successful with great food and great service.

Their leadership is blowing capital on painting a turd. They were successful by setting good food in front of you. They stupidly thought moving to prepackaged items and microwaves would increase the bottom line. Turns out it didn’t. So now it’s the signs fault along with some pick axes and old pictures on the wall. I don’t see how some of these idiots get hired into leadership. I really don’t.

On a side note, I used to sometimes wonder when I was waiting for my food in a Cracker Barrel, if like in a hundred years from now, and I was long dead, my kids, and grandkids were dead, and no one remembered me, if my photograph would end up on the wall of some random Cracker Barrell. I guess there is no need to worry about that anymore.

I looked at their stock and it looks like Covid really wrecked their momentum. They’re trying something new but it wasn’t a pretty rebrand, at least not yet.

It's not a trap - it's that it's super cheap and way easier to sell

Wait, Cracker Barrel has actual shareholders? Lol. I guess I need to skim through all my index funds and promptly sell off anything that has even 0.000001% allocation in that joke of a franchise.

I just assumed that they were just a small piece of some shítty conglomerate of multiple chain restaurant franchises containing various price points and cuisine offerings for overall risk aversion.

Did the same a week ago coming back from Pensacola to pick up dinner. Can't say I'm a connoisseur but the breading was perfection. About the nicest person I've ever dealt with took our order as well. So much so my wife and I independently said "how nice was she?" when we got back in the car.

Double thread hijack, How was the "MHiPs" situation coming up? There must have been 5 or 6 all the way up 45 in what I guess is their new black wraps and hard to make out green decals. Went to Tupelo early last week and a couple on the way up there as well. In the last 10 years or so of frequently running up and down 45 I can't remember ever seeing any. I wonder what they'll do on 25 when the season gets going.

Your assumption will probably be reality soon enough.

My go to at Krazy K’s is three strips with honey mustard dipping sauce, a bag of Bugles, and a Dr Pepper.

Yeah, this is really much ado about nothing. The CEO is tone deaf though by using the term inclusive though. Too many people got an irrational thought that she was trying to exclude them. Problem is 'them' wasn't supporting them as they've lost 40% of their sales due to declining quality of the food and store cleanliness.

CB went to **** about 10-15 years ago. I still go occasionally, but it tastes like every single thing comes straight off a Sysco truck and simply gets reheated. The biscuits are the only things that seem to be "made".

Their biscuits weigh about a pound each - far from light and fluffy.

The cornbread's pretty good.

My brother in law became a multi millionaire after loading up on stock when they went public back in the day. He still lives in Lebanon, TN where the first store was conceived. Sounds like the Woke Madison Avenue Execs have gotten their claws into the company.

This is EXACTLY what a woke conse4vatice historically republican voting socialist would ask!

We are on to you.
My only thought when I saw the new logo was that it looked like someone picked a flow chart shape out of Visio and applied Cracker Barrel font and color…
