I had my first bad experience at Mudbugs 047 (off of Old Fannin, behind the farmer's market)
i know they are a sponsor of our forum, so I don't want to be a dick. But they brought out our order, minus the corn and potatoes, which the girl said would be brought out shortly.
We we never got our corn and potatoes. I would have been perfectly fine with just sitting there drinking on my pitcher of cold beer until they were able to bring everything out together, if I had known.
My plate of crawfish had about a half dozen "straight tails", which usually means they were dead before they hit the boiling water, so I didn't eat those. I also had several that were not as hot (temp-wise) as the others, that seemed like they were boiled long before the others.
I'm a regular at this place (3 or 4 times every season) and they are always spiced perfectly, so no problem there. I was refunded for the lack of taters and corn after the young lady got the manager, but the mgr was the only person there that wasn't a late-teenager.
I left wondering whether they have undergone new management. It was not a huge crowd of patrons, because nobody was sitting at the tables that are not covered, due to the threat of rain. They also had a corner of covered-seating area that was blocked off for a band, but no band was playing. They could have had another table under cover there, but luckily it never rained, just a slight mist/sprinkle.
