Crawford/Sioux County Co-op Update

It was discussed and voted on in October to co-op all sports between the two school districts, Sioux County school board unanimously passed a co-op agreement with Crawford. A week later the Crawford school board voted it down ahead of the Nov. 1st football declaration deadline. Fast-forward to today (1/28/26) a committee has been formed and the two schools are back in serious talks again with a rough outline of how the co-op would work. Both schools are hoping to have a resolution for the co-op on the table to vote on in April and yes this could possibly include what happens with the upcoming FB season.

Too late for the upcoming football season. Schedules come out February 11th, which is 2 months before Crawford/Sioux County's April board vote.

You’re right…it is too late…their current options are to not co-op in football and probably not be able to either of them field football teams or co-op and play a JV schedule for the next two years. Either way this situation has been fumbled throughout many times along the way

Both teams will field football teams. The main immediate issue is girls sport. Sioux County has had neither vb or girls basketball this year. Crawford is fine across all. Sioux County is low numbers for sure in football but will field a competitive team. They always do.
