Just browsing around the Internet...I came across this national record:
11,232 career rushing yards - Ken Hall, Sugar Land (Texas), 1950-53
Somehow, I doubt he was playing 15 games a season.
It did get me wondering how many times in history a school, anywhere has put together 4 straight seasons with a 2000 yard rusher where each season a different kid was the rusher. Bird just did that. I can't imagine it happens very often. Most schools have never had even one 2000 yard rusher.
