I like Newby. He does look better than he used to. He'd be a million percent better back if TA could throw a decent screen or a check down. I think he'd shine in the passing game if given the opportunity, Marshall Faulk-eque.

thought he looked worlds better. ran hard instead of tentatively like we've seen in the past. probably takes that circle route to the house if armstrong could make a simple throw.

Thought he looked better. That said, thought Ozigbo and even Tre Bryant looked better than him. Wilbon looked good on his what 1 carry? Still not sure what is up with him.

Oh boy did I like Tre Bryant for a true freshman. Think that looks like a 1-2 punch with him and Ozigbo for a few years? They got a STEAL with Ozigbo.

I don't know what's standing between Wilbon and playing time, but it's not what he does on Saturdays.

Yep! IIRC there was a lot of criticism on this board when he committed and questions why we'd want him, because somewhere it said his 40 time was a 4.7.

+1 ... assuming serviceable speed and size the most important quality a RB needs and the most difficult to assess on tape is vision. Can a RB see the cracks in the line that turn a 1 yard gain into a 4-5 yard gain or the cut back that turns a 4 yard run into a 15 yard gain. Very difficult to develop this skill. Now combine this vision with exceptional size and speed and you have an NFL quality RB.

Newby would be the best of the bunch if we would throw to him more and more effectively. Like others above said he would be able to shine with some short passes. Newby looks lesser because of TA's skill set. TA is a gifted runner, option quarteback who throws well on the run and the long bomb. TA struggles with short passes which is exactly what Newby needs. Newby is made for the offense they ran at OSU.

Unfortunately for Newby, he'd be a better back with our future QBs.
All very well said. O does a Devine job catching passes also.
Throughout the comments since Tre came; the coaches have called him a gifted receiver and a natural at pass blocking - another time in recruiting, that the coaches evaluated reality and grabbed him up to coach him up, GBR
