Shelby will be the best team we will face this season!
Nail-biter for sure, but if there is a season where we are clearly better, this should be it.

Dax will have that defense outta control....I don't see Crest being able to do much offensively.
They were overmatched last year and almost come back and won. Bring it on back to Realville.

Two examples here recently would be 2014 and 16. In 14 supposedly Crest was going to destroy Shelby and barely pulled out a win late in 4th qt.In 16 Shelby was going to win by as much as they wanted and escaped with a close win with that Shelby team way more talented than this years team. My opinion it will again come down to turnovers,penalties,and the trenches.
1987...Crest has no business even being on the field with that Shelby team.
I always reference that game to my Shelby brethren. We had 8 or 9 fumbles that game.
For every year we take where one team was better than the other then you also have to take in account for the years when Shelby and Crest blew each other out...and I'm not talking 70's, 80's, or even 90's, seems like in 2002 Crest won 40-0.
Im expecting a game similar to Crest and southpoint. Crest's defense is gonna have to make some magic happen to have a chance, because the Offense hasn't put it together yet. But they will...eventually. Maybe a few mistakes on Shelbys end, and some help from the refs and we might have a good ball game.

Shelby is pretty good this year, not great, but maybe good enough to win. If the golden lions don't figure out how to cover kick offs and punt returns, that will bite them in the butt and cost them a game or two. They have never been good at that phase of the game in the 50 plus years of have watched Shelby play. Visiting team usually wins anyway, might be a night to remember
Our special teams cost the game in 2015 at Shelby. They have not been good this year on kickoff coverage, so far.
Well a few years ago I started going to the Shelby v Crest game and it has not disappointed 1bit !!!! That is my favorite game to watch but the 2015 at Shelby was amazing I arrived at around 6 to get a good seat and glad I did the track was even full of people. It's a must see game
This game shouldn't be close...best Shelby defense ever vs. very mediocre Crest offense. Crest D will have to score a TD to even keep it close...but it's NC high school football best rivalry and funky things happen. Just don't see the dogs -21 winning this one. However there's always next year.....
Nice try, but you ain't fooling no one. Both offenses have struggled, plus like Burns y'all got an extra week to prepare.
I'll admit, I hate a bye week. I know they are good for injuries but they can really get a team out of rhythm. Make'm lazy in a sense. I hope Crest comes out firing on all cylinders...but like someone else said, next year should be special for the chargers.

There's a good dentist in Shelby....I am going with 26...which would be about 26 more than any South Point fan on Nov. 3rd.
Lol that was a typo - I meant 30-7 and you know Shelby just flat out played bad in that game.
On the other hand....our kids expect to win this week and I really like our coach. So your right....you never know but we are still a 3 TD dog. The ball can take some funny bounces sometimes or a player or two can leave the game early so like I said you never know. IF Crest did win it would have to be considered an upset and the Shelby faithful would be in depressed mode for weeks, months or even years lol. That's what makes this game so special and unlike no other.
Na....only a couple of weeks until we play RHSP. Depending on that game....this game could be an after thought. However, if we can't shake it with that game...we definitely will in December when we win our 5th championship....IN A ROW!!!

yeah good luck with that one but you won't be the favorites...hoping the Lions are thinking ahead. However - we both know being the huge favorite against Crest and anything less than a victory would be demoralizing. Good luck against RHSP and the drive for five - rep Clev. Co. well. Don't forget about the red neck Raiders from Bellymount.. the dogs Sea and Coon think the Raiders will top the Lions. Should make for an interesting last game to decide the conference -ship.
I don't think its automatic that next years team is gonna be great. I think this teams has to show signs of greatness in order become a special team next season!

However - Crest barring injuries will be much better toward the end of this year.
